What is IPES?

Intensive Personalised Employment Support (IPES) is a voluntary provision, supporting people with disabilities and complex barriers to find work, sustain employment and make improvements to their health and wellbeing.

Genius Within CIC is delivering IPES alongside specialist partners Health 2 Employment and Shaw Trust. Specialist Key Workers from each organisation will form Multi-Disciplinary Teams, sharing their expert knowledge/experience to provide holistic support to participants. At Genius Within, our Key Workers will be called IPES Case Managers, in line with similar roles within our Company.

What do we need?

The IPES Case Manager is integral to the success of the IPES programme, ensuring participants receive regular, intensive support.

You will look for new and innovative ways to motivate people who are disadvantaged in the job market. You will be able to quickly build rapport with participants and proactively source job opportunities with appropriate employers. You will maintain relationships with both the participant and employer once employment begins to provide in-work support and any appropriate advice and guidance.

Providing bespoke support to individuals, by leading 1:1 and monthly group work sessions to their case load; with the aim that participants enter employment. These sessions will involve strategy coaching to individuals and groups of participants, including our Employable Genius course, and training in the strategies and course materials will be provided. These sessions will be delivered as a combination of face-to-face (travel across Local & South London is essential), telephone and virtual (Zoom or Teams) settings.

You will need to show an understanding of your community and the wide range of services available within them. This is to help signpost participants to gain appropriate support from other agencies and organisations. You will need to broker routes into existing services and liaising regularly with health professionals, partner organisations and employers in the local community, you will focus on ensuring every participant’s journey into sustainable employment is as smooth and well-coordinated as possible!

2. Do you have the ability to tailor and adapt your approach and deliver one-to-one and group work sessions to individuals with barriers to employment?

3. Can you build relationships to create job opportunities with employers that match your participants’ needs?

4. Are you able to travel regularly to support participants, and manage your diary to achieve this?

5. Are you passionate about social inclusion and can you motivate participants to work towards gaining employment?

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Case Management:

1. Engage participants referred to IPES, empowering and supporting them on their journey into employment.

2. Manage a caseload of unemployed and in-work participants across a specified geographical location.

3. Assessing participants barriers to employment and producing SMART action plans which will support them to overcome these and improve their circumstances, wellbeing, confidence and enhance their motivation to find sustainable employment.

4. Supporting clients on your caseload into employment in line with associated monthly targets for employment entry and sustainment.

5. Keeping accurate records and completing administrative tasks in line with the requirements of the project on the specified database including updating participant details, session notes, reports, assessment results, CVs and cover letters.

6. Organise and coordinate client activities, including one-to-one meetings, group sessions, outreach appointments, work experience and employer and stakeholder engagement.

7. Undertake in-work support to ensure participants maintain their employment including carrying out reviews with the client and the employer.

8. Maintain relevant administrative systems and records in adherence to project compliance.

Coaching:

1. Assist with aspects of employability including helping the participants to build their skills for job roles job application, interview preparation, and liaising with employers for reasonable adjustments as part of in-work support.

2. Deliver a range of psychology-based interventions and coaching to motivate and empower participants.

3. Facilitate participants’ confidence growth, raising aspirations to assist in the realisation and achievement of their strengths and potential.

4. Creating Action Plans that are specific to participants’ needs and then providing tailored interventions to support them in achieving these.

Other:

1. Work collaboratively within the Multi-Disciplinary Team, participating in caseload reviews, group delivery sessions and customer led support activities.

2. Identify and engage local employers through cold calling and reverse marketing; building and maintain these relationships.

3. Deliver presentations to work coaches and local stakeholders, promoting referrals and relationships.

4. Ensure safe working practices are maintained as set out within Genius Within and Shaw Trust policies & procedures, as well as operating within service guidelines when participants require crisis support.

5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the benefit system and entitlements.

6. Collate impact data and provide regular progress updates to management.

7. Attend CPD events as part of professional development, staying current and up to date with practice.

This job description is intended to provide a broad outline of the main duties and responsibilities only. The post holder will need to be flexible in developing the role in conjunction with their line manager. The post holder may be asked to carry out any other delegated duty or task that is in line with their post.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Essential

· A MSc or BSc in Psychology is essential

· Demonstrable experience in social inclusion.

· Tolerant, non-judgemental attitude towards people who are socially excluded.

· Experience of delivering training in group situations and providing one-to-one coaching.

· Ability to role model and ‘walk own talk’ through attention to own patterns of behaviour.

· Ability to work flexibly and independently with multiple stakeholders.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong communication and motivational skills.

· Proactive resolution of risks and issues.

· Experience with case management, data entry, accuracy and attention to detail.

· Competent and confident in the use of IT, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook/Office 365.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Desirable

· Level 1 in Test User Ability (for example, RQTU).

· Experience of supporting, motivating and advising participants with neurodiverse conditions into and during employment.

· Experience of working with stakeholders including employers, local authorities, health services and voluntary sector organisations.

· Experience of engaging with employers to source, create or tailor employment and training opportunities.

· Knowledge of challenges faced by the long-term unemployed

· Knowledge of benefit system and employability programmes

Safeguarding: Essential

· Ability to display an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults
