Applications are invited for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant with a degree (or nearing completion) in Psychology (or related field), to investigate the everyday visual experiences of young children with and without Down syndrome, using head-mounted cameras. The position is funded by the James S. McDonnell Foundation (JSMF) Opportunity Award awarded to Dr Hana D’Souza. The successful candidate will join the Cardiff University Centre for Human Developmental Science (CUCHDS; https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/research/explore/research-units/centre-for-human-developmental-science) in the internationally renowned School of Psychology at Cardiff University, which has a strong tradition of supporting research careers in psychology.
The post holder will join a team with a postdoctoral researcher, under whose supervision they will assist with the research study including (1) participant recruitment; (2) data collection; and (3) data entry and data coding. There will also be an opportunity to engage in data analysis and dissemination. Training and support will be provided as required.
Applicants must have excellent organisational, communication, and research skills, and an ability to successfully work as part of a team. This post is especially suitable for those finishing a BSc degree in Psychology.
This post is part-time (21 hours - 60%) with the possibility of a job share, and is fixed-term for 12 months.

Start date: August/September 2023
Salary: £29,762 - £34,314 per annum, pro-rata (Grade 5). It is not expected to appoint above the first point of the scale £29,762 per annum.
