We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Service Coordinator in Adult Social Care. In this newly created position, you will work in Adult Social care but attached to specific service areas. If you are highly organised with advanced administration skills, this is a great opportunity to progress your career to the next level. This role will deliver high level business functions; therefore we are looking for candidates that are creative, inspired and self-motivated.

About Us

The London Borough of Newham is located only 5 miles east of London. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east. It is well connected by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London. The London City Airport which serves major European cities is located at Royal Albert Dock. Newham has a large housing regeneration programme that will build over 1,000 new council homes by 2022.

We have the youngest overall population in the country. It was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the London Stadium. It has a thriving arts quarter with the both the Theatre Royal Stratford East and Stratford Circus Arts Centre offering excellent entertainment for all the family. There is the University of East London which has two campuses in Newham, one in Stratford and another next to the regenerated Royal Albert Dock. It also has a large Westfield shopping Centre in Stratford which has all the major retailers there.

Newham Adult Social Care has recognised that we want to work in Co-Production with our residents with Learning Disabilities, to ensure that we provide a holistic person centred service to ensure that we support people to live fulfilling lives. We have recently restructured our services so that we have a specialist Learning Disabilities and Autism Team; we are looking for a Team Manager to join us on our journey so that we can deliver better services.

The team forms part of the Council’s whole life approach to ensure that people of any age with learning disabilities and autism can live healthy, safe, independent and fulfilling lives. We are working with our partners to develop an integrated service and improved journey for residents. We want to ensure services join and smooth out some of the issues customers and their carers experience at different stages in their lives.

We absolutely want to increase the number of people living independently in their own homes; with everyday access to employment and/or other worthwhile pastimes.

About You

The post holder will be reporting to and will be working closely with the Adult Social Care Business Manager and will be supporting the overall aims of Adult Social Care through efficient and effective coordination and high quality administration, including supporting a range of meetings and boards.

The post holder will underta ke the compilation, analysis and presentation of data and information from a wide range of sources in order to assist the assessment of programme effectiveness and where improvements need to be made.

Acting as a hub for communicating important messages and changes that will help achieve the goals of the service is a key responsibility
