Job Description Summary
The Markets team within Specialist Client Solutions are welcoming all suitable applications for an exciting opportunity working with an ambitious, diverse and proven team of regulated sales colleagues covering c3000 SME and MC clients.

The successful candidate will join a team that predominantly delivers the sales, execution and facilitation of financial markets transactions for all new and existing customers helping them manage their currency, commodity and interest rate risk. We work with decision makers across the country to develop risk management strategies and deploy a variety of products that can remove market risks from clients balance sheets as well as suit their particular market views.

The market-facing and multi-faceted nature of this role requires a focused, results-orientated individual who is keen to learn about financial markets. The successful candidate should be excited by a customer facing role and is willing, with our full support, to sit the FCA exams required to be able to execute trades and converse with clients independently. Your desire to learn will be matched by a willingness to teach from everyone in the team.

Job Description
Key role accountabilities:
  • You will support senior colleagues within Treasury Services Sales in the day to day running of the business.
  • You will initially focus on passing the required regulatory exams that will allow you to speak to clients independently and positively impact team performance
  • You will need to take a keen interest in the political and economic events that impact markets and build the confidence to produce market commentary and present this in an accessible format and style for a broad range of internationally trading clients.
  • You will learn to interpret a huge amount of global market data, investment trends and policy developments and be able to articulate these in a way that allows customers to understand the impacts to their business.
The person we’re looking for
Will be motivated and enthusiastic with a passion for learning about market drivers, our suite of hedging solutions, how we can tailor them to an individual view or need and looking to develop customer-facing sales skills. All financial markets have been impacted by the events of the last few years and we are looking for a colleague to share our passion for understanding how changes impact customers and what we can do to support them. Your background could be in a number of different areas, and we encourage this in our team.
Essential Skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A track record of excellence in the Commercial Bank
  • Primary focus on passing any exams required for the role (please ask if you have any questions about these)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks
