Position Summary
You will report to the Head of Shareholder Relations and will be responsible for a large number of the day-to-day Shareholder Relations activities relating to ICG plc.
Shareholder Relations is responsible for all communications with shareholders, sell side analysts and related stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing shareholder presentations and corporate announcements, and arranging/attending meetings with shareholders and analysts. The team are responsible for the shareholder relations of both ICG plc and ICG Enterprise Trust plc, and this role is expected to focus almost entirely on ICG plc.
This role would suit an ambitious individual from a range of backgrounds. Being comfortable with corporate finance and accounting concepts is crucial, as is the ability to communicate clearly to a range of audiences through a range of channels. As part of a small team, the role provides an opportunity to work on all aspects of the IR programme, working closely with functions across the Group, including the senior management and the Board and its shareholder base.
The demands of the job are varied – an ability to be very ‘hands on’ across all aspects is crucial, giving the successful candidate an excellent insight into how ICG is run from a number of perspectives. An ability to be strategic and communicate a senior level is crucial.
This is a highly flexible role, with significant scope for professional and personal growth in the coming years.
Primary Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Shareholder materials
In relation to the preparation of shareholder materials, the new hire will be required to liaise with finance and the investment teams to ensure the financial performance and business developments are fully understood and accurately reflected in external communications. This will include, but is not limited to:
  • Lead the preparation of shareholder announcements, presentations and other materials, as well as drafting of ad-hoc announcements and quarterly updates
  • Work with the Head of Shareholder Relations to deliver quarterly investor relations reports to the Board summarising key activities, movements in the share register and trends
Stakeholder engagement
In relation to stakeholder engagement the following activities are within the scope of this role:
  • Development of the shareholder register; in conjunction with the broker and advisers identify potential new shareholders
  • Assist in organising and attending analyst and shareholder meetings and results presentations
  • Maintain the IR calendar, including supporting the brokers with organising roadshows
Competitive landscape
  • Work closely with the Head of Shareholder Relations ensure that the Executive Committee have high-quality and actionable insights into what our competitors are doing, how they are performing, and how we compare against them from a strategic, valuation and positioning perspective
Annual Performance Expectations
  • Deliver timely and accurate
    • Shareholder material
    • Draft Annual Report and other communications
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (in particular research analysts, and also shareholders)
  • Organised and efficient working style to respond accurately to requests on a timely basis
Key Requirements/ Qualifications
You will have demonstrable experience of:
  • Working in in ECM, equity research, corporate broking, equity sales or IR
  • Managing projects and workstreams independently that have multiple internal and external stakeholders,
  • Delivering high quality written and presentational output to senior stakeholders with minimal input and direction
  • A knowledge of, or experience with, financial institutions / asset managers is beneficial but not a requirement
  • ‘Non-traditional’ background (e.g. arts degrees) are welcome as well as more ‘traditional’ finance / economics degrees
