Due to continued business growth we are recruiting for a HR Business Partner to work as part of a team providing HR guidance and support to leaders and employees across the business. We have big plans ahead, and our HR team play a key part in ensuring our amazing teams are supported with expert HR leadership, advice and support as our thriving business grows.

What will I be doing?

As a HR Business Partner, you will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team understanding exactly what direction the business is heading in, as well as supporting our fantastic HR Team and challenges faced. You will be a hands-on team player, happy to get involved in the operational work and have extensive experience in building strategic relationships. You will spend lots of time on-site across the group, so you must be happy to travel to other sites across the UK.

No two days are the same, but some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Building a centralised HR Team to support a fast-changing business, ensuring that the HR team remain engaged, delivering, progressing and enjoying their roles
  • Provide support and guidance to leaders on generalist HR topics including investigations, absence management, performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, terms and conditions, ensuring best practise and consistency of advice
  • Build and establish required reporting and data insights that aligns with future business organisation design
  • Acting as the link between our Executive, Operations, Technical and Leadership Teams - ensuring you are aware of what is happening within their areas, keeping them abreast of issues and developments and supporting them
  • Supporting our new acquisitions with their HR needs; building collaborative and supportive relationships, guiding on best practice, training and providing them with everything they need to succeed in their new home
  • Deliver a professional transactional and advisory service to employees/leaders ensuring all HR systems, processes, case handling information is accurate, timely and meets legislative requirements.
  • Ensuring that our leaders and HR Team adhere to all best practice guidelines, company standards, and follow the relevant legal requirements.
  • Being a valued member of our fantastic HR Team, where we all work together to support business operations, so you may be required to pitch in and complete some generalist HR activities or projects.

What are we looking for?

You will be fully CIPD qualified (minimum Level 5 or above) and offer previous HR Business Partner experience, preferably within a unionised environment. You will be naturally inquisitive, not afraid to challenge, lead by example and have an honest approach to both employees and leaders. You’ll also:

  • Offer up-to-date knowledge of employment law and demonstrable business awareness
  • Have the ability to understand detailed information, compile and interpret statistical data and communicate it to colleagues in a professional, clear, and concise manner
  • Experience as a HR Business Partner, whether this is within a larger corporate business or a smaller business
  • Resilient, demonstrating confidence in influencing and negotiating - you'll need to be comfortable having difficult conversations and presenting to Senior Leaders
  • Approachability and exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling you to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient IT skills (including MS applications)
  • Integrity is a must, as you’ll be working with sensitive and confidential information
  • Naturally, you’ll have unquestionable attention to detail and strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Offer flexibility and willingness to travel to a variety of business sites on occasion
  • Reliability is essential; there’s something about being dependable that we think matters
