Overview of Risk

At AGCO Finance, the Risk Team is responsible for, underwriting finance applications from retail customers, and ensuring all our compliance obligations are performed. We provide commercial finance facilities to the UK and Ireland AGCO dealer network so that they can stock equipment to allow customers to take hold of their asset as soon as possible. In our Portfolio Management Team, we help customers who may have fallen into financial difficulty and ensure they pay their commitments to us in a timely manner. With this variety of tasks, it allows students who want to explore these areas of the company to gather invaluable experience and help them discover interests and direction for future careers.

By the time you have completed your year placement you will have gained invaluable experience and knowledge of the running of key operational Credit and Risk tasks. All the time, you'll have an assigned manager on hand, who'll provide you with expert advice when you need it, as well as weekly sessions with a sector expert to enhance both your knowledge about the company and about the wider risk and credit environment. They'll help you make the most of the opportunities on offer, give you experience to be able to complete your degree, and lay the foundations for your long-term career. You will also be offered ample support with any work you may have from your university.


What to expect


This role will rotate through three main risk functions: Credit, Inventory Finance, and Portfolio Management & Compliance.

  • Within the Credit function you will:
    • learn how new business proposals are auto-decisioned and manually underwritten,
    • conduct in-depth analysis of borrowers’ financial performance,
    • evaluate the risks related to the borrowers’ industry and operations; and
    • interpret data to mitigate risks affecting borrowers; repayment capacities
  • Within the Inventory Finance team, you will:
    • understand the stocking process, including credit line reviews, and monitoring inventory through audit
    • build relationships with our customers and dealers
    • assist with control testing
  • Within the final rotation, Portfolio Management & Compliance, you will:
    • gain an understanding of the delinquency process, effective provision settings and litigation
    • learn about asset management and remarketing
    • conduct assessments on the quality of our compliance procedures.

Essentials
  • Applicants need to have the right to work in the UK.
  • The office is in a rural location not easily accessible by public transportation, please keep it in mind before applying.
  • Applications will preferably be working at a 2:1 level or above in Economics, Business, Finance or Banking, however we are open to applications below this grade or alternative degree subjects.
  • Must have a good understanding (including experience) of MS products, including Outlook, Teams, Excel etc)

Competencies and skills

  • Be keen to learn the day-to-day skills required to work in a credit and risk team.
  • Be able to learn the day-to-day processes which control daily routine tasks.
  • Once fully trained and confident in the task, be able to work on your own initiative, reaching out for guidance as required.
  • Be enthusiastic to get the job done.
  • Be a confident communicator, whether working remotely or in the office.
  • Have an eye for detail ensuring accuracy, this is imperative when working in a risk environment.
  • Open to taking on responsibilities which have a real impact on our business.

Good to know:

  • Deadline application April 4th or as role is filled, so an early application is suggested.
  • Reports to the Risk Manager.
  • Office Location: Abbey Park, Stoneleigh (near Kenilworth)
  • Hybrid working (minimum of 2 days per week in the office)
