The industry
Although we operate in the niche that is the pharma outsourcing space within the drug development sector, it’s not essential to have come from that industry, what matters most is your B2B experience. If you don't have a science background - we have a solid training and development program for that.

Senior Inbound B2B Sales Manager role

Job purpose

This role is to manage, nurture and convert marketing-qualified B2B leads that come into ramarketing's new business pipeline via the customer acquisition team and inbound marketing to build and grow the business and successfully bring new customers into the organization.

At ramarketing, we don’t like the word ‘selling’ and an essential element of this role will be to consult, guide and take a helpful approach to every single person you speak to, using industry knowledge and marketing acumen to demonstrate that we are the right fit.

We are looking for someone who has a nurturing, intelligent and intuitive approach to people and business development rather than being about the hard sell.

Ideally, you will have worked in an agency environment or within the life sciences industry, understand marketing, B2B, and have technical capability with a passion for people and building relationships. Someone who is driven by results, progression and team success.

As a senior role, this position commands a salary in the region of £45-£52K (dependent on experience), with the opportunity to earn uncapped commission as part of our benefits package.

Within the role, you’ll be:


  • Speaking to prospects, understanding their challenge and advising them on what they need to do in marketing to grow their business
  • Writing tailored new business proposals, responding to RFPs, gaining scope approvals and keeping the business aware of pipeline progressions
  • Managing and advising our B2B life science contract service clients on marketing strategy (segmentation, positioning, personas, targeting etc.) and cross-platform marketing including: communications campaigns, research and insight, competitor analysis, trade events and lead generation
  • Supporting the new customer acquisition team with attending industry networking events and contacting prospects to establish new customer relationships
  • Driving innovation in our product offering, how we talk about our services, our business development process and ultimately how we sell.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role, your duties will include but aren’t limited to…

Business Development


  • Manage and frequently communicate with new prospects in the BD pipeline, acting professionally on behalf of ramarketing
  • Take time to really listen and understand the challenges and pain points of prospects to ensure that our recommendations are fully in tune with what they need and always display a consultative and helpful approach
  • Keep senior stakeholders across the wider ramarketing business fully informed about the BD pipeline and provide regular reports
  • Plan, develop and create bespoke and succinct new business proposals for new customers
  • Take the lead on RFPs and mobilise the wider team to input ideas and join in on pitches
  • Ensure you bring in other ramarketing team members at appropriate points during the BD process and collaborate effectively with them to deliver proposals
  • Collaborate closely with the new customer acquisition team to plan, develop and implement business development activities for ramarketing, including actively seeking new business opportunities and generating meetings for trade events
  • Support the new customer acquisition team with outreach strategies by attending industry events and networking initiatives to build relationships in the industry. International travel is a requirement
  • Work with internal teams to support existing customer proposals
  • Work with internal teams to onboard client work and projects and ensure the transition from the pipeline to the delivery team is as smooth as possible

Marketing

  • Work with the inbound marketing and new customer acquisition teams to deliver sales targets, through marketing initiatives
  • Bring fresh thinking, advanced techniques and creativity
  • Regularly feedback the knowledge you gain from working with prospects in the pipeline to the wider team so they can use this to inform their approach

Project/business support

  • Liaise with existing customers in a consultative manner
  • Liaise with colleagues, clients and suppliers to drive campaigns/projects forward
  • Support the career development of junior team members

Knowledge & learning

  • Stay abreast of marketing trends and developments to continually provide a world-class service and the best solutions for our clients’ and our business
  • Constantly build your industry knowledge of the pharmaceutical and life science sector
