We’re a small, but very far-reaching team!
Of the 2500 Bauer employees in the UK, there are not many who you will not come into contact with at some point, which keeps each day different.

The focus of your role:

To work as a professional member of the reception team, providing excellent customer service and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, in all interactions both externally and internally.

Responsible for welcoming and attending to visitors, representatives and other third parties. Dealing with enquiries on the phone, face to face and in writing, in a professional and efficient manner.

As part of the reception team this role is responsible for answering and routing incoming calls and place outgoing calls. The role will also provide cover and support to the wider Facilities team as and when required, including regular support with Post Room duties.

Role Responsibility

• To ensure all incoming calls are answered professionally, dealing with enquiries efficiently and courteously, transferring calls, where appropriate.
• To assist with facilities admin
• To embrace new technology and improved ways of working.
• To greet any persons entering the building ensuring their names are recorded.
• To welcome visitors, ensure the signing in of visitors.
• To ensure the reception area is always clean and tidy.
• To manage the collection and delivery of keys for the test car and bikes.
• To conduct DSE assessments as and when required.
• Manage the first aiders and fire wardens, arranging training when required and recruiting where necessary.
• Ensure the notice boards are kept up to date or cleared if in unoccupied areas.
• Assist with any health and safety requirements.
• Assist with post room duties including to provide a facility to send outgoing mail once a week, sort incoming mail if requested and to provide access to the post room, when needed.
• To assist with any ad hoc duties that may arise.

The Ideal Candidate

Required skills:

• Able to contribute positively as part of a team and adopting a flexible approach by helping out with various tasks as required.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, always acting as a professional representative of Bauer Media.
• Has an excellent telephone manner, with the ability to use good interpersonal skills to enable effective communication and to provide a high level of customer service.
• Has competent technology skills with the ability to answer and transfer calls. Also demonstrates a desire to embrace new and more sophisticated software systems to enhance and improve the reception service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrating the ability to communicate in an accurate, clear and concise way.

Desired skills:

• Prior experience as a receptionist or in related field.
• Strong communication skills at all levels
• Ability to use excel and word is key in this role
• Reports may be required in excel and word
