Job Description

Permanent Contract | £35,411 to £37,261 per annum (Scale J) | 37 hours per week | County Hall, Norwich

We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council.

For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council we promise to try and match or better your existing salary.

Who Cares? We do.

Are you an experienced social worker (registered with Social Work England) looking to work with a forward-thinking team who embrace change and are passionate about promoting and supporting people to keep them independent, resilient, and well? If so, joining us in Central Norwich could be the right move for you.

An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join our team. We would need you to have an experience of working with adults, managing complex cases, have a sound knowledge of the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Safeguarding. Excellent time management and IT skills are also essential. Ideally you will have a thorough working knowledge of Norfolk County Council processes and procedures. Covering Central Norfolk, our team of Social Workers, Assistant Practitioners and Occupational Therapists utilise the Care Act (2014) to assess and provide support to adults living in the community. With our integrated working, you’ll enjoy variety in your day and the opportunity to build strong working relationships with professionals across the county council, NHS, and other partners.

We work under Living Well model of care to provide better outcomes by talking about what people can do, listening and connecting to enable early intervention in the community and avoid where possible admission to an acute setting. If you are committed to a person-centred and strengths-based way of working, we would be interested in hearing from you. In return, we can offer you the opportunity to work in an exciting and challenging area of Social Care, and you will be supported to develop into the role with regular supervision, training, and peer support.

Please note that whilst an understanding on the Norfolk processes would be desirable, training can be given. We’re committed to continuous professional development and offer benefits such as Norfolk Rewards – a scheme offering discounts on everyday purchases. Affordable housing, good schools, a vibrant city, beautiful countryside and an enviable coastline. What is there not to like about living and working in Norfolk? You can work flexibly; our technology platform and equipment are first class enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity. We'd love you to come and join us
