Currently we are looking for a Safety Engineer to join the UK Manufacturing Engineering team based at Broughton, North Wales.
You will operate alongside the daily management of health and safety in order to promote continuous improvement, reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering Single Aisle Rate Projects. In addition you will provide support to the Wing Of Tomorrow team and have a cross functional brief, which is intended to cut across established communication lines and management structures.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
Provide professional and pragmatic support for the business, helping to drive sustainable improvements with a long term outlook including alignment with the industrial system design team
Coordinate, direct and lead the EHS function for new projects to ensure optimum health and safety of projects, to meet customer and manufacturing requirements
Act as the primary EHS point of contact for the Industrial launch
Support the implementation of EHS UK policy for occupational health and safety management
To assist the business with a risk management based approach to assist in setting priorities for further control and management of risks in the work environment, with a view to embedding sustainable solutions
Create and monitor project timelines for the development and completion of EHS Project options
To support with engineering functions in the creation of appropriate specifications for the introduction of new plant and equipment
To undertake monitoring, audit and review of aspects of the approach to health and safety management and to report findings
Lead Supplier’s EHS performances based on tool design, manufacture and supply and determine potential areas of improvement
Support in conducting safety audits and investigations of project to assess safety of machinery. Work closely with engineer to complete projects
ABOUT YOU
Broad knowledge of supply of machinery regulations and current safety standards
Chartered Member of IOSH with up to date CPD, with Nebosh Diploma.
Experience of Construction Design & Management (CDM Regulations)
First-hand experience of formal risk assessment techniques
Clear understanding of the pragmatic and practical application of health and safety management system standards
