Digital Optimisation Manager - Hobbycraft Head Office, BH23 6HG

Salary up to £40,000 DOE, 4% pension contributions, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores, hybrid working policy, dog friendly office and so much more!

Full Time – 37.5 hours, we would consider part time hours working over 4 days.

Our core business working hours are Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm and we are very flexible with starting and finishing times, we also offer hybrid working for 2 days from home.

About the Role

Reporting to the Digital Product Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Experience team at the UK’s leading arts and crafts retailer. You will be accountable for the delivery of the experimentation roadmap, championing the use of data and be at the heart of the continuous improvement of our customer journeys and ultimately driving tangible incremental revenue. You will use your natural empathy for customers and data interpretation skills to define high value experiments as well as expanding our testing velocity. You will enjoy a fast growing, and already thriving online channel and make a difference within a can-do culture.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role within the product management team, working with the Product Manager, Digital Analyst and various specialists to define the experimentation roadmap for the web site, within the overall Digital Product Strategy
  • Accountable for delivering the experimentation roadmap to deliver incremental revenue, conversion rate optimisation and customer satisfaction.
  • Accountable for execution of experiments across prioritisation, definition and hypotheses, design, and technical delivery
  • Management of 3rd party customer experience agency where used for delivery of experiments
  • Management of experimentation platform and 3rd party relationship, ensuring optimum use of the platform capability, client services and thought leadership.
  • Grow the experimentation velocity by devolving usage across the whole digital team to embed an test culture on all site changes, e.g. trading and merchandising; managing the growth by adopting a Centre of Excellence approach
  • Ensure all experiments are run with integrity and work with the Digital Analyst and 3rd party customer experience agency to ensure that test outcomes are analysed and interpreted with full context, to arrive at robust conclusions and consequential decision making, e.g., winning experiences are fed into the product backlog.
  • Accountable for personalisation and segmentation elements of the experimentation roadmap, utilising the customer data architecture to deliver relevant experiences and drive value.
  • Ownership of the ‘voice of the customer’ capability on the web site, managing the 3rd party provider and ensuring the tool is fit for purpose and optimised.
  • Ensure ‘voice of the customer’ insights are blended with the quantitative data and fed into the digital product roadmap.
  • Ownership of customer research platform to carry out panel-based customer tests to support specific topic areas and feed into the roadmap.
  • Support as required on additional digital touchpoints, e.g., our Workshops web site and customer app.
  • Deep understanding of customer journeys, behaviours and mind sets via the data and qualitative insights.
  • Champion experimentation culture via stakeholder engagement and communicate benefits and results.
  • Maintain and grow experimentation and digital experience specialism by continuous monitoring and research into best practice and innovations, both within the craft space, across online retail and other verticals.


About You


  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a digital product/experimentation/CRO role
  • Strong empathy for human user needs and mindset.
  • Analytically minded, able to draw hypotheses and conclusions from analytics data and customer insights.
  • Proactive approach with constant desire to deliver a better customer experience and commercial results.
  • Someone who is thorough with good attention to detail and adopts a right first-time approach.
  • Strong focus on process
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A strong team player and communicator; able to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • A self-starter, who can hit deadlines and get things done.
  • Someone with ambition who wants to develop their career in ecommerce and sees this as an exciting opportunity to work for a fast-growing online brand.
