We are looking for a driven Solutions Architect to join the leadership team of one of our core SaaS products for the commercial airline industry.
At Collins we are building and supporting large scale systems in the cloud using a wide span of cutting-edge technologies to deliver scalable systems for our clients. You will play a key role in a high velocity multi-squad delivery team that manage their own sprints. You will have a passion to work on complex multi-tenant b2b websites that deal with high volume data presented on map. We are broadly based across the world and believe in flexibility, however if you want the full office experience, our Winnersh facility provides a highly polished environment to work in – as well as colleagues to enjoy the day with. We do encourage getting together as a team and will expect some visits a year to the office even for mostly remote members.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Solutions Architect to lead the architecture on one of our core products. The right candidate will have a broad technical background with strong experience in software engineering for many years. Our tech stack is AWS, Kubernetes, Postrgres, redisDB, Docker, C# and Angular and the successful candidate will tick several of these boxes.
It is important that you have worked on scalable SaaS based products before in preferably b2b or b2c environments.
This is a senior role within the team, you will have the gravitas and experience to lead the team into the right solutions, with the balance to be open to their innovations, helping steer the squads in the right direction. You should be confident in communicating and presenting at all levels of the business, from other engineers up to senior stakeholders in engineering.
Activities:
Designing architecture for new solutions / features coming from VSLs (product managers).
Presenting designed architecture to engineers so they understand the requirements.
Communicating with engineers to ensure they align with the overall product vision.
Steering the technical roadmap of a product based on the customer roadmap.
Assisting engineers in stand-ups.
Developing proof of concepts for future architecture in partnership with other engineers.
Backlog refinements, sprint reviews, sprint planning as a senior member of the team
Documenting the current architecture
Painting a vision of the future architecture based on customer requirements.
Basic Requirements:
Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or relevant training coupled with experience.

Communication – Can document and articulate what you have built clearly and concisely to team members and stakeholders.
