Job Description

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust delivers the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Hampshire. Hampshire CAMHS currently have a vacancy for a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join the team as a band 5 Mental Health Practitioner within the Single Point of Access (SPA) for Hampshire. You will need to be registered with a Health or Social Care governing body, and have CAMHS or relevant Mental Health experience.

This will be a newly created centralised SPA team overseeing the front door to CAMHS and the triaging of referrals for the service, as opposed to the area-based approach. This is an exciting opportunity to take forward the development of a new team. The team base will be Eastleigh.

Hampshire CAMHS are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner that shares our enthusiasm, passion and commitment to work alongside colleagues to deliver a good quality timely service to young people and families in Hampshire, in collaboration with a strong supportive leadership team.

This post offers a Golden Hello, or a Relocation package up to a maximum of £2000. (pro rata applies and subject to terms and conditions. Please see attached Protocol document).

JOB OUTLINE

To participate within the multi-disciplinary professional Single Point of Access team in the relevant care group to deliver safe children and young people care focussing on therapeutic relationships.

To work in partnership with families and carers to ensure the children and young people’s individual health needs are met.

Understand evidence based therapeutic interventions relevant to the care group to include education, clinical care, wellness recovery action plans and discharge planning.

To work with colleagues to offer consultation and advice to primary care workers on all aspects of mental health and well being of children and their families.

To direct children and their families to the most appropriate service in order to meet their emotional needs.

To offer assessments individually and jointly with primary care colleagues.

We’d love you to join our organisation that is rated ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ for caring by the Care Quality Commission. Our staff agree, with 82% of people in our recent staff survey telling us that they recognise that care for patients is our top priority.

Other key staff survey results include:
Clinical practice, including own professional development

Practice Development, including professional development of others

Research and Development

Governance – including quality, standards, documentation & ethics
