Job Description

commercial

Welcome to Ancillaries – an exciting part of the business to work in! With ambitious growth plans in place, we invite you to be part of our journey!

As Commercial Executive – 3rd Party Ancillaries, you will support the drive of Ancillary revenue from 3rd party suppliers across the TUI UK business. These providers include the likes of TUI Musement, Holiday Extras, our Travel Insurance provider and Car Hire suppliers to mention but a few.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will support efforts to improve volume across our sales channels. TUI Retail and our Web channels are a key component of the Ancillaries strategy, and your role will see you ensuring that our offline and online sales channel is set up success – whether that be through supporting Communications, updating Selling Tools, supporting the logistics of Holiday Planning Month, providing Performance data and analysing trends or resolving customer Escalations.

You will regularly review customer touchpoints to ensure that our presentation is optimal, and you will ensure that our suite of Ancillaries is available to book for our customers to align with TUI UK season launch dates. This will see you collating information to ‘load’ prices and availability of ancillary services such as Car Hire and Attraction Tickets.

The role is based in Luton, but at TUI we believe work is something you do not somewhere you go. Therefore, we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements for this role and the successful candidate will work a blend of office and homeworking.

If you are keen to apply, don’t delay as the application window is now open until Friday 4th August. Curious to find out more and if this is the right move for you? Then please reach out to Daniel Argent-Burns or Kate Jordan for an informal chat

ABOUT THE JOB

At its core, as Commercial Executive, you will support your Line Manager to ensure that our channels remain fully engaged in the Ancillary product range and our performance is optimised. TUI Retail has typically seen a disproportionate share of this effort owing to the key part that the retail estate plays in our Ancillaries strategy.
You will work on Retail Communications which detail offers and incentives that have been agreed, you will ensure these are communicated to the estate in a timely and engaging fashion. You will also review the tools that Retail have available to them and suggest improvements or updates to support sales. One such example may be the Holiday Planning Tool which our estate use to remind customers of the Ancillaries which are available to them throughout their holiday.
As you develop a close working relationship with our colleagues in TUI Retail you will be the first point of contact for queries coming into the team to support offline sales. In addition, you will collate trading feedback from TUI Retail and share back with the wider Ancillaries team as relevant. This will be used to reveal missed opportunities. Performance management is also a key part of the role and you will support your Manager to collate and distribute sales information down to store level to drive improvements in performance.
TUI Retail have a calendar of events across the year, one such event is Holiday Planning Month, you will support the Holiday Planning framework that is delivered in Retail and the plan of events throughout the year with your suppliers. In doing this you will implement marketing, promotion and incentive activities as appropriate.
As well as the Retail estate, for the portfolio of Ancillary products within your remit, you will regularly review our competitors and review opportunities to evolve our Ancillary product and marketing. This may see you briefing brochure pages or changes to web landing pages. You will also review the entire TUI customer journey for all things ancillaries to ensure it is seamless and effortless via all channels at every touch point and suggest changes to drive uptake. This may be in an online environment such as Manage my Booking or Booking Confirmation Page with the same goal to drive online conversion.
You will support the on sale set up of our ancillaries which require manual intervention, these include the likes of Attraction Tickets and Car Hire. This will see you sourcing information, creating excel files and providing this information to load. You will ensure these ancillaries are set up correctly and on sale in a timely fashion to align to Tour Operator launch dates. You will also support your Line Manager to ensure that fulfilment processes are as efficient as they can be.
Finally, you will work with the wider UK Ancillaries team to support our goal to drive improved margins. This is a broad remit and may see you raising invoices and Purchase Orders or making suggestions to the Central Markets Ancillaries team for new products to fill local market gaps. You will also support your Line Manager with various Ancillaries projects which have a direct impact on the customer proposition and the bottom line.
