Job Summary
This position oversees the management and delivery of the operations of the Department of Medical Education. Implements processes, coordinates and collaborates with relevant THR operational units, and directs all activities in developing, implementing and managing Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Graduate Medical Education Residencies and coordination of Undergraduate Medical Education activities and affiliations. This includes ensuring all accreditation and regulatory standards are consistently met by all educational activities and programs; the management of budget planning and monitoring; recruiting and supervising Graduate Medical Education and Undergraduate Medical Education staff; coordinating the development of new GME residencies and collaborating with Residency Program Directors for teaching and supervising physician faculty recruitment and curriculum delivery.
Job Description
Operational Functions:
Develop, implement and maintain all operational function of the Department of Medical Education.
Develop, implement and maintain all policies and protocols to ensure compliance with ACGME accreditation, Joint Commission Regulations, and THR policies.
Oversee approach and processes for resident recruitment.
Develop and manage all components of resident employment, on-boarding and exiting from the program.
Develop and maintain all processes necessary for maintaining training records and files.
Develop protocols for THR New Innovation system to ensure consistency and accuracy across THR programs.
Collaborate with, and be a resource for, relevant THR Departments regarding GME and UGME.
Supervise Program Coordinators, Medical Student Coordinators and other GME and/or UGME staff as assigned.
Develop, implement and maintain processes to effectively manage and record all medical student clinical rotations.
Working in collaboration with THR Marketing Strategy, to develop and assist with maintaining effective presence of GME and UGME through marketing, website, social media and public relations.
Financial Operations:
Collaborate with THR financial support to develop financial analysis of new GME residencies.
Develop processes to collect and maintain all data necessary for effective annual submission of each relevant Texas Health facility Cost Report.
Collaborate with THR reimbursement management for all inquires related to GME activities.
Provide oversight of all GME and UGME budgets. Collaborate with Program Directors and Program Coordinators to ensure understanding and compliance with program budgets.
Collaborate with THR Department of Benefits to annually review, update and communicate THR resident stipends and benefits.
Accreditation and External Affiliations:
Serve as the ACGME Institutional Coordinator
Coordinate and manage all components of the THR Graduate Medical Education Committee.
Manage THR ACGME WebADS
Coordinates and collaborates with program and facility leadership on all ACGME accreditation activities, to include completion of new program applications, all ACGME program site visits, Clinical Learning Environment Reviews (CLER visits), special program reviews, and 10-year self-study activities.
Manage institutional National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) activities.
Act as a resource for Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Act as a resource for ACGME accreditation, Texas Medical Licensing Board and Joint Commission Standards as applicable to Medical Education.
Comply with all Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) requirements for the processing and delivery of medical student clinical rotations.
Assist with development and maintenance of all Medical Education affiliation agreements and Program Letters of Agreement.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Education or related discipline Required
Or
Master's Degree Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Education or related discipline Preferred
Experience
10 Years Graduate Medical Education Administrative Experience with three years in a central/institutional GME position Required

Strong knowledge of Graduate Medical Education and Undergraduate Medical Education Management and business of curriculum delivery.
Strong knowledge of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, Associate of American Medical Colleges, Joint Commission, Texas Medical Licensing Board, and other regulatory and accreditation related requirements.
In-depth awareness of current trends related to the accreditation and delivery of medical education.
