The Role:
This is a high-profile role for a database administrator to join a Managed Service (MS) provider within a major software house. The right candidate will be a member of the growing Cloud Ops Team with key responsibilities in service engagement with our managed / cloud hosted clients.
The ideal candidate must be conversant with operational Unix commands and procedures around the management of a secure data network. ION hosts and manages a range of clients, fully managed by Cloud Ops in ION owned data centres, as well as expanding cloud-based solutions hosted by third parties such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
We are looking for bright, articulate candidates with strong drive and capability to learn and expand their current knowledge. Working as a team covering up to 24x7 hours the candidates must exhibit a high degree of professionalism including the ability to escalate when needed, a desire to provide high customer satisfaction and be reliable.
The range of equipment and applications to be managed will also be expanding. Much of the expansion will be on Linux based platforms.
