JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Summary:

You will join the global CIB Marketing & Communications team and be responsible for developing an external communications strategy for the Payments business. This creative thinker and engaging PR professional will secure impactful stories in top tier, tech and trade media outlets, and work closely with the Global Head of Communications, Payments to provide strategic advice and guidance to the Payments CEO and related leadership team, as well as collaborate with functional partners to help raise awareness of the Payments business – and ongoing innovation - externally.

Previous PR agency experience and/or tech and fintech/payments communications experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute holistic external communications strategies
  • Build strong relationships with tech and fintech press
  • Work with the media to share our story externally, generate ideas and identify key moments in time for creative storytelling opportunities to promote external brand awareness
  • Collaborate across the CIB Marketing & Communications organization on executive communications, social media, content development and marketing to amplify business initiatives
  • Identify and track key performance metrics to report on results
  • Review and approve all external public speaking engagements (conferences, panel discussions, etc.) with Global Head of Communications, Payments

Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills::

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in public relations and/or communications within the finance, financial services or technology industries
  • Talented story-miner and storyteller with the ability to identify, pitch and manage communications projects that further the firm’s Payments reputation while telling impactful stories through the media (e.g., key announcements, reports, surveys, product launches, Investor conferences, etc.)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships; must be able to work closely with senior executives and demonstrate executive presence
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed environments with minimal supervision; Proven ability to lead, influence, and align across cross-functional teams, while interacting with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to simplify complex subjects
  • Hands-on experience with day-to-day workflow and project management tools (Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and PR tools like Gorkana, Zignal, BusinessWire, Bloomberg Terminal etc.
  • Commitment to maintaining the firm’s high standards related to risk, compliance and the Code of Conduct

Preferred Qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or other related degree
