The Sr Fuel Sales promotes and sells Chevron's products. Supports clients/customers and assists with functional projects under regular supervision. Has a general knowledge of the work group.
The purpose of this remote job is to develop, implement, and maintain effective and profitable biodiesel, renewable diesel and blended fuel sales relationships within Chevron Renewable Energy Group’s Wholesale Distribution channel along the U.S. West Coast while at the same time working collaboratively with other Sales teams and the Corporate Business Development team on creative partnership opportunities.
This is a remote position within: California & Washington.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Develop Strategic Partnerships (35%)
Assist in handling customer inquiries and issues associated with the movement of fuel sales from REG facilities to the customer
Participate in trade association events
Develop strategic partnerships with regional municipalities and state fleets
Assist in handling customer complaints related to product performance, misuse, shipment, loss claims, etc.
Assist in development of testimonials, field trials, and other related advertising/research activities
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
Convert current customers and prospects into strategic partners that help develop REG brand awareness
Sales Prospecting (25%)
Develop and analyze sales call lists for assigned region
Make warm and cold sales calls to prospects
Travel to prospect accounts to conduct in-person meetings. Travel expectation is 30%
Attend fuel tradeshows and conventions
Deliver the REG value proposition and effectively overcome objections to close sales opportunities
Develop sales strategies to acquire new customers
Sales Administration (20%)
Submit sales contracts via SalesForce
Complete sales forecast for assigned accounts
Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and the competitive environment
Actively participate in the morning market calls, contributing business intelligence
Actively participate in weekly check-ins with manager to review business activity and key deliverables
Customer Relationship Management (15%)
Manage gallons sold and profitability of sales accounts
Utilize CRM system to input all sales account information and ensure data accuracy for assigned team accounts
Utilize CRM to input sales forecasts and initiate sales contracts
Other Frequent Duties (5%)
Ability to analyze the most effective and economical movement of bulk biodiesel and renewable diesel to points of distribution
Participate in sales and supply meetings
Monitor competition, economic indicators and industry trends
Work with REG corporate affairs to set strategy and push policy makers to gain support of renewable fuels growth in assigned region
Required Qualifications:
4-year bachelor’s degree – Business or related
3-5 years of renewable and/or pertroleum sales experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Special Considerations:
This is a remote position reporting into the Chevron Renewable Energy Group business unit headquartered in Ames, Iowa.
Be available for overnight travel up to 30% of the time within the region and to Ames, IA, as needed for customer and/or team meetings.

Demonstrate attention to detail
Ability to use office equipment (computer, copy machine, calculator, 10-key, etc.)
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and in a timely manner

The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on his or her skills, experience, and qualifications. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,400 – $168,400.
