JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Manager, Nurse Continuing Education and Program Design, you will collaborate with both the content development and product management teams in the development and maintenance of educational products and consultative services that support ANA Enterprise programs by using educational and instructional technologies. You will assess, develop, design, and deliver curriculum for the association's online training and credentialing programs using in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the operational and technical processes and outcomes related to the delivery of educational products and services. Additionally, you will provide content design using technology and LMS tools.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Primary focus is to design educational content for our nurse credentialing and general nursing educational products utilizing interactive learning formats, and other instructional materials as needed supporting the ANA Enterprise mission, vision, strategic plan, and goals
- Design and produce quality written and visual communications to internal and external stakeholders to meet the required deliverables, and you will collaborate with the content development and product management teams in organizing and creating content and learning experiences according to accepted principles of adult learning
- Lead the development and management of selected educational products and services using educational technologies such as discussion forums, e-learning software, mobile application, video editing, and narrated slide presentations. This includes but is not limited to educational programming, and all aspects of the project life cycle including assessment, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of on-line and technology-based educational products.
- Leads select web-based product development incorporating web-based course management, LMS and /or content management systems, graphic design principles, information architecture principles and methods, various operating systems, file structures, file formats, and protocols, current instructional theories for collaborative learning with web-based tools, and streaming audio and video, podcasting, and social networking tools as appropriate.
- Maintain project documentation and course folders as required by the Accredited Provider Unit and the Content Development team standards of practice
- Create and manage curriculum content, databases, develops and analyzes reports, and makes recommendations in support of e-learning products, webinars, or other content development educational products as needed. This also includes management of program, product, and services information on the Learning Management System (LMS) or any approved technology distribution platforms.
- Implement standards, systems and best practices for the evaluation, specification and delivery of products and services, and track metrics to pinpoint process efficiency opportunities
- Prepare and manage training for internal and external partners for use of our various platforms and Learning Management System (LMS)
- Develop innovative educational technology strategies and activities that will enhance the quality and effectiveness of educational products, along with customer service and satisfaction, supporting the ANA Enterprise mission, vision, strategic plan, and goals
- Assist in identifying, researching, analyzing, and reporting on relevant trends and issues related to educational technology including semi-annual environmental scanning for best-practice tools used in educational technology
- Work collaboratively with associated departments, staff members, content experts, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, analyze tasks and derive learning objectives, outcomes, and metrics to improve business results
WHAT YOU BRING TO ANA
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Education, or related field
- 3-5 years of proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia, or similar software required.
- Experience narrating and editing audio and video formats required. Experience in LMS management and support
- Must be a team player, have strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
- Must be able to take initiative, and to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and design aesthetic is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation skills are also required.
- Must have the ability to interact professionally and appropriately when dealing with all levels of ANA enterprise members, customers, and staff, as well as other external organizations
- Critical thinking, problem/process analysis and solving skills as well as creative and abstract thinking.
- Must have knowledge and curiosity in emerging training development tools and ability to quickly research, learn and utilize new technologies
- Experience in curriculum development for healthcare education preferred
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design preferred
- Web-Master skills or webpage creation skills preferred
Work Schedule:
Hybrid: Employees are considered Hybrid if they are regularly scheduled to work in at least 20% of their work week or work month in an ANA Enterprise Office.
Hybrid employees are expected to travel to the office when requested and/or when necessary to achieve results or meet business needs.

- The ANA Enterprise will hire primarily from the District of Columbia (DC), Maryland (MD), and Virginia (VA).
