THE TEAM

The Ticketmaster Music division is focused on custom and unique ticketing solutions to better connect artists to their fans and serve the needs of the music touring industry. This team develops and maintains several internal and customer-facing applications, and integrates with other Ticketmaster services and third-party sites and applications to deliver the best value to our clients and fans.

THE JOB

We are looking for an exceptional engineer who will work as a key member of our development team building the next generation of fan-oriented applications, such as Ticketmaster Request, our lottery-style ticket distribution platform that ensures that the true fans get a fair chance at the best seats in the house. The ideal candidate should have experience building highly scalable services as well as user-friendly applications, and can collaborate with multiple teams, local and distributed. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Implement features from beginning to end, based on requirements documents, UX mockups, and team design discussions

  • Participate in design and development of new services, APIs, and interfaces

  • Write unit and integration tests along with primary development

  • Collaborate with other product teams within the organization to leverage and enhance shared services and deliver value

  • Continuously seek to improve system performance, stability, ease of development, and fan experience

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Strong preference for CS or IT-related discipline

  • 5+ years of work experience

  • Knowledge and experience with either .NET and/or Java development environments, preferably both

  • Knowledge of ReactJS or other front-end JS frameworks

  • Strong knowledge of current JS and CSS frameworks, libraries, and best practices

  • Knowledge of Web build tools such as SASS/SCSS, Webpack, etc.

  • Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL and MSSQL

  • Experience with Git and general branching/workflow best practices

  • Experience with build pipelines and IaaS tools such as Terraform

  • Experience with Docker and containerized deployment a plus

  • Experience with supporting high-traffic sites; usage of CDNs, proxies, and caches

  • Familiarity with Agile development process

  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud-based deployment strategies

  • Experience with Kubernetes a plus

YOU (BEHAVIORAL SKILLS)

  • Ability to bridge the gap between disparate systems and technologies

  • Strong experience working in a team and as an individual

  • Experience leading/mentoring other software engineers; leading design reviews and architecture discussions.

  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral), with experience producing technical and design documentation.

  • Commitment to delivering quality product on schedule at a predictable cadence

  • An ability and desire to develop with new technologies as well as to delve deep on more legacy products and environments

  • Ability to shift focus between multiple projects depending on the current priority
