The Director Data Science and AI will independently lead Data Science & AI global initiatives part of the overall R&D data science and AI strategy to contribute solving fundamental process or priority program needs, in collaboration with various stakeholders. You will role model a culture of analytical decision making and data sciences across Novartis leadership in research and development. Deep technical expertise with key accountability for a significant project, business activity.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Support the development and execution of roadmaps for the team to innovate in multiple business verticals by transforming the way to solve a problem using Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
- Design, develop and deliver various data science-based insights, outcomes and innovation (using mathematics, computer science, statistics, engineering, management science, technology, economics, etc.) and create “proof of concepts & blueprints” to drive faster, timely, highly precise, workable and proactive decision making based on data-based insights and science and shape strategic glidepath of the company.
- Identification and sourcing of relevant internal and external data sources and select innovative methods including machine learning, deep learning, other cognitive computing methods and artificial intelligence
- Exploratory analytics to identify trends, patterns or process drivers and support of User Experience Design and development of advanced analytics products, architecture and development of new IT infrastructure
- Collaborates with globally dispersed internal stakeholders, external partners and Institutions and cross-functional teams to solve critical business problems, drive operational efficiencies and innovative approaches,
- Proactively evaluates the need of technology and novel scientific software, visualization tools and new approaches to computation to increase efficiency and quality of the Novartis data sciences practices
- Presents and publishes articles in conferences and academic institutions of repute and serves as an ambassador for promoting Novartis Data Sciences brand
This opportunity is located at the Novartis East Hanover (NJ) site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Relocation assistance may be available.The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $144,000 and $216,000 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
