Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications to fill the part-time role of CCAMPIS Coordinator on the Walla Walla Campus.

General Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for establishing campus and community partnerships that support student parents and facilitates access to services specific to their needs. This position works closely with multiple college departments and area agencies to provide holistic wrap-around services for student parents. This position provides direct services to students as well as program coordination and support. This position supports the institution’s mission and goals through developing unique opportunities and supports for students, and resource stewardship through collaboration with internal and community partners.

Essential Functions:

Develop, coordinate and oversee activities that support the outcomes of the Child Care Access Means Parents in School Program grant (CCAMPIS)
Tasks include:


  • Establish and maintain effective working partnerships with multiple stakeholders including campus departments and funding sources, community agencies and service providers; coordinate and collaborate for the purpose of enhancing student resources and support.
  • Develop and promote opportunities for student parents to engage in relevant activities such as parent support groups and community playdates.
  • Work collaboratively and maintain regular communication with other departments including Student Life in order to develop awareness of student-parent needs and potential CCAMPIS activities to address those needs.
  • Attend department and division meetings; provide updates on CCAMPIS activities.

Oversee and coordinate day-to-day program services
Tasks include:
  • Work directly with student parents to facilitate access to supportive services and activities.
  • Identify and assist with access to potential sources of funding and in-kind support to enhance students’ opportunities to fully participate in campus life, student activities, and completion of programs of study.
  • Facilitate warm referrals and intake appointments with community-based organizations.
  • Foster student accountability, self-advocacy, self-awareness, and effective use of resources.

Managerial functions of grant implementation and participation tracking
Tasks include:
  • Develop and maintain data tracking system for student-parent participation in CCAMPIS activities and resources.
  • Prepare quarterly reports and regularly review participation data for program adjustment and enhancement.
  • Assist with development of Interim and Annual reports as required by grant guidelines.

Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills across various educational and cultural levels while using written, electronic, and verbal methods.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competency; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the college, students, co-workers, faculty, community and partner agency staff.
  • Excellent computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including ability to create, format, populate and modify spreadsheets, effectively use Outlook for email and calendar functions including scheduling meetings and tracking time and effort.
  • Ability to work independently on projects related to the essential functions of this position.
  • Ability to contribute to teambuilding in support of a positive work culture
  • Strong organizational, planning and implementation skills.
  • Ability to represent the College in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and deal effectively with problems; exercise good judgement when making decisions.


Required Qualifications:
  • Associate of Arts degree
  • Two years full-time experience providing program support and/or customer service; relevant experience may substitute for education at the College’s discretion.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with diverse populations including those in low socioeconomic status.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience working with community resources for financial, academic, social, or other preferred.

Conditions/Terms of Employment

This part-time temporary position (up to 17-hours per week) is located at the Walla Walla Campus. Vacation, sick leave and personal leave benefits are available on a pro-rated basis.

This position is funded through a 3-year Federal grant. Continued employment in this position will be contingent upon continuation of the CCAMPIS grant.

Work is performed almost exclusively indoors in an office environment. Standard office equipment and software used regularly on a daily basis. Work will be typically during standard business hours (8am – 5pm Monday thru Friday) but may also include occasional evening and weekend hours in order to oversee grant-related activities. Limited local travel may occasionally occur. This position works directly with students, staff, faculty, and partner agency staff.

Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment. WWCC participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Candidates may be subject to a criminal history background check as a condition of employment.
