Job Title: Account Manager – Marine Division
Salary: £ 80,000 – £ 85,000
Location : Peterborough and Wimborne

The Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division has an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager located in either Peterborough or Wimborne, UK. The Account Manager develops new business and manage Corporate Accounts through the development of sound business relationships. You will drive growth for assigned accounts though discussions with the customer on product and lifecycle service needs. You will work and coordinate efforts of a cross functional team and global dealer network for sales and services agreements that address the unique challenges of these customers.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop effective internal partner relationships and relationships with major Marine customers so that sales objectives can be achieved. Work with senior management to develop and implement market strategies for key industries and customers as well as securing commitment of Caterpillar and Dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.
Promote new solutions and upgrades for transformational growth to customers.
Consult with various departments within Caterpillar regarding the direction and strategies that key industry leaders will be adopting in the future.
Consult with dealers and districts about sales and service support of product to “corporate account” customers.
Travel in customer locations to gather voice of customer (VOC), monitor customer satisfaction and identify future product and service needs.
Apply product and services knowledge to ensure VOC is recognized both short-term and long-term expectations are met.
Make regular visits to job locations, foreign and domestic, to provide advice and counsel to potential customers.
Ensure that account decision makers have been fully exposed to the features/ benefits available from Caterpillar products, dealer, and marketing before they finalize purchasing decisions.
Skills and Experience:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering related field with progressively responsible experience including field or customer/dealer support related roles or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Marine or other heavy industry experience such as Oil & Gas or Electric Power leading customer solution development and proven ability to close sales opportunities.
Able to deal with sensitive issues and/or persuade others on new methods of equipment application, new technology and service methods.
Ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences.
Good human relations skills - to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business unit.
Previous experience as a fully contributing member on significant projects and/or teams.
Ability to travel frequently (up to 50% of work time).
Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Corporate Account Management Experience.
Experience developing or servicing global services contracts (such as long-term service agreements).
Experience in Multiple Marine Products and Segments, including Digital.
