About the role:
Network Rail Consulting is currently hiring for an experienced Operational Integration Lead to join the Digital Systems Program (DSP) with our client, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). Since 2018, we have been a key partner to TfNSW’s Digital Systems Program, bringing together technical and operational functions to deliver an ETCS L2 railway for TfNSW's heavy rail network.
The Operational Integration Lead will oversee and lead the Operational Readiness team for the System Integrator to ensure the development, delivery and acceptance of operational systems changes required to successfully roll out Digital Systems for TfNSW.
The successful applicant for this role will have demonstrated experience managing Operational Readiness processes across a program lifecycle and the confidence to apply their technical expertise in a consultancy environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work with multiple directorates across TfNSW/Sydney Trains (DSBI) and their stakeholders to determine the Operational Readiness Strategy, tools, and techniques for the program.
- Develop and support the creation of the local Directorate Operational Readiness Lists for the Digital Systems program – through workshops, interviews, leveraging past experience in similar changes.
- Co-ordinate the production and adequate storage of evidence systems to allow a smooth entry in into operational service for the newly installed digital systems.
- Provide expert advice and support the interpretation of the impact of the proposed technical requirements for compliance on operations.
- Support the compilation of any changes that are required to operations that facilitate the roll out of digital systems.
- Provide technical expertise for the implementation of operational specifications and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled and to ensure efficient, effective, and safe working.
- Ensure a collaborative approach at all times with the client and all key stakeholders.
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential
- Significant Railway experience including implementing significant change in operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing/writing Operational Readiness reporting across a complex, multi-disciplinary program.
- Experience managing the compilation and collation of evidence files and stage-gate materials.
- Strong IT proficiency – including MS Office applications.
- Good communication skills to interface with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to follow standards/procedures and ensure your activities are conducted in compliance with relevant administrative, financial, and corporate governance requirements.
- Ability to prioritise work and deliver to tight deadlines under pressure.
Desirable
- Prior experience in the delivery of change, compliance and/or complex projects.
- Formal risk and/or project management qualifications.
- Ability to integrate various data sources into a single log for upward reporting.
- Knowledge/experience of working in the Australian Rail Industry.
