Marketing Manager
Starting Salary: £40,000 + , negotiable for an experienced candidate
Puffin Produce Ltd, based in West Wales are the largest supplier of Welsh produce in Wales, supplying a wide variety of potatoes and seasonal vegetables to multiple major retailers and wholesalers. Our organisation holds an excellent reputation as a progressive and developing company and we have recently made significant investment in a state-of-the-art packing facility and are currently investing further in a new Prepared Vegetable operation. Our Blas y Tir brand is a large part of our business in Wales and our new brand – Root Zero, has launched into the UK as the UK’s first Carbon Neutral potato brand.
We are recruiting for an ambitious Marketing Manager to join our expanding Sales & Marketing Team, who will manage the development and evolution of their winning brands, Blas y Tir and Root Zero. What you can expect from the role
You will report directly to the Head of Sales and Marketing and will lead the Marketing function, covering all elements of the Marketing Mix to ensure short term brand targets and long-term brand goals are met. The job is primarily based at our Withybush head office in Haverfordwest, with some travelling and time out of the office when at events or external meetings. Your normal working hours will be 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday, although these hours are likely to change when working offsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the 12-month brand and integrated communications plan.
- Lead brand development and NPD streams.
- Oversee media selection, ensuring effectiveness of channels to reach target audience.
- Develop winning category plans, working alongside the Sales team.
- Manage 3rd party relationships, attend industry events and support retail and stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and manage PR and sponsorship opportunities and relationships.
- Build and manage annual Marketing budgets.
- Evaluate return-on-investment of all Marketing activities.
- Lead all internal and B2B communications, championing the brand internally and externally.
- Act as the ‘voice of the consumer’ within the business.
- Manage internal communications i.e. newsletters, brand engagement
This is a very autonomous role, offering the opportunity for the right candidate to make a recognised contribution to the continued success of the Puffin Produce business the Blas y Tir and Root Zero brands.

- Proven track record in Marketing particularly Brand strategy and development
- Communications planning
- Campaign execution and project management

- Analytical skills with good attention to detail
- Well-organised, and ability to multi-task
- Able to work in a team demonstrating strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Positive and proactive approach to tasks
- High level of written and oral skills
- Literate in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint
- Full UK driving license
Desirable Skills
- Sales/Marketing/PR experience, especially FMCG Brand Management
- Relevant marketing experience & qualifications
- Coaching and mentoring experience
- Knowledge of the Welsh Language
