Job Description

Welcoming new ideas from a variety of different backgrounds, our aim for 2023 is to continue developing and hopefully become the future of SEO for SaaS. That's why accelerate are on the lookout for an SEO specialist who is well-versed in the latest SEO development and how this may impact their clients in the long run.

Working alongside experts in the SaaS industry, you will be crafting search engine optimised plans and content with the main purpose of boosting online visibility, driving traffic, and generating exceptional results for our clients, and in turn, the agency.

We need someone who not only has the love for SEO but the passion and confidence in their own abilities to be accountable for client performance.

Paying from £30,000 to £35,000 (DOE)

About us

Specialising in SaaS SEO fueled by a combination of human expertise, data analysis, and automation. Our skills lie in the strategic use of content, SEO, large-scale outreach and link building to get our clients organic results that match paid performance channels. We're about finding the leanest, most efficient and effective routes to get there. Forget the old agency adage of 'pulling a late one' - we're all about working smarter, not harder while respecting our colleagues' work life balance.

About the Role

Our strategists should always be searching for new and better ways to generate results for our client's results and therefore not be afraid of trying new tactics when finding new strategies and techniques to use.

This well assembled team will be responsible for potentially 10 client accounts and will need to form a tight bind, work closely with one another and have each other's backs when it comes down to business. Don't worry about the workload as you will have a full delivery team supporting you and executive team members ready to lend a helping hand.

Our strategists will at least be familiar with the client management aspect of the role as it will still be a client-facing position. With the aim to win the client's trust and instantly reassure them of our SEO efforts and guaranteed results, our SEO specialists will be expected to wow the clients with their knowledge.

This means the SEO strategist will be expected to work closely with both the client and project managers to ensure that the client is completely take care of and a collaborative relationship is built – guaranteeing results, retention and profitable work.

About you

You will need to be an excellent copywriter with perfect grammar and punctuation and at least 2+ years of experience developing content that appeals not only to Google but also its users – optimised for search, crafted to engage.

Up-to-date knowledge of best SEO practices is a must and so candidates should have a thorough understanding of on-site, off-site and technical optimisation. Other vital skills you need to bring to the role include excellent proofreading, proficiency using industry-standard SEO tools, and an understanding of how to analyse and measure the success of the content that you create.

Core responsibilities

Being a part of pitches if needed to help tie up prospective clients with how we on-board them.

  • Creating client reports (our preference is Data Studio, but we're not precious if you have a better solution).
  • Delegating work to our technical SEOs, content writers and link builders to ensure all the resources available to you are working in line with your strategy and delivering you the results you need.
  • Developing complete strategies for our SaaS clients that incorporate on-page SEO, content production, technical SEO and link building
  • Forecasting and projecting what work is needed, work with the project manager to understand what resource is needed now and for new clients we hope to take on.
  • In-depth keyword research and keyword analysis.
  • Training new specialists.
  • We're looking for someone who isn't afraid of some deep work in a spreadsheet. What some agencies just consider keyword research, we consider the crux of a strategy, defining where that keyword sits in the client's customer funnel and how realistic it is to rank for that keyword against the competitors with the available client budget is a huge part of the initial strategy, which you'll be responsible for.
  • Working with clients to define their KPIs in order to write their strategy
  • Working with the client manager on client retention and upselling presentations
  • Working with the head of operations on improving our current processes and defying new ones we don't yet have.
  • You will be expected to define the correct content approaches for our clients, identifying not only what keywords we should rank them for to deliver results, but also what type of content we need to create to rank and how we are getting to get that content to rank.

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of 3 years previous or current experience as an SEO
  • Understanding of backlink profiles and link authority
  • Agency or inhouse background, wanting to grow within an Agency.
  • Excellent written skills, including impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with colleagues and clients
  • Strict adherence to the style guides of our clients
  • Good time management skills
  • A clear understanding of and ability to report on SEO analytics

Our staff benefit are:

  • 31-days holidays (includes bank holidays and Christmas shutdown)
  • 2 extra days per year for each full year of service up to a total of 8.
  • £1,000 annual development budget per annum
  • Hybrid working
  • Flexitime
  • Healthcare package
  • Wellbeing hub
  • Lifestyle discounts
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Excellent maternity, paternity and adoption packages.
  • Monthly professional development planning
  • Option to work abroad for up to 3 months

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all different backgrounds. In order for us to be able to give you the best interview experience possible, please let us know in advance if you require any reasonable adjustments to the application or interview process and we will gladly see how we can accommodate them.
