We have an excellent opportunity for an organised person with cooking and kitchen management skills. You must have experience in large scale catering preferably within an NHS environment and must hold City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or an S/NVQ qualification along with a Food Hygiene Certificate.You should have the ability to work off your own initiative as well as work as part of a larger team. Good communication skills are also essential.
The Main Kitchen at University Hospital Crosshouse provide in excess of 1800 patient prepared and cooked meals every day, including therapeutic diets to patients, as well as meal services for staff and visitors. In addition we cater and provide hospitality for meetings and functions.
Your duties include the preparation, cooking and service of meals which also includes therapeutic diets when required. Maintaining a high standard of hygiene, recording and monitoring of data for HACCP and for Environmental Health.
A degree of flexibility is essential, applicants who wish to be considered, must be available to cover shifts within the department between the hours of 0630 and 1830 which will include weekends.
All preferred candidates must attend a Corporate Induction program before commencement of employment; thereafter an ongoing program of Mandatory & Statutory training.
