Job Description

Our Operating Theatre Department have an exciting opportunity to join our well established theatre team as a full / part time Band 2 Perioperative Care Assistant.

We want to employ forward thinking, motivated and dedicated staff who are seeking a career in perioperative nursing through the ODP Apprenticeship scheme or Nursing pathway and have the aspiration and motivation to work in this complex environment. Our investment & commitment to our staffs continuous professional development in knowledge and skills will provide a varied yet rewarding career in the perioperative environment. You may already have experience in this role.

To undertake a range of duties including clerical and direct care activities under the direct supervision of a registered member of the theatre staff or a senior Perioperative Care Assistant, guided by QCF level 3 Health Diploma in Peri-operative Support competencies.

In pursuing these duties the post holder will ensure compliance with the NHS Constitution and be familiar with the NHS England Guidance ‘Understanding the new NHS’.

This comes at a time when are completing our £9.2 million state of the art additional 3 theatre new build investing in the service provision to our community. Our specialties include Ophthalmology, General Surgery, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Maxilla-facial, elective Orthopaedics, Acute & trauma, Obstetrics and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit.

We are always looking for enterprising and innovative approaches to the way we provide our services. We are a national centre for telemedicine and introduced telehealth to the UK offender healthcare sector and also provide the service to patients in their care homes. Community matters to us and we are supported by 400 dedicated volunteers and have strong links with Bradford University, Craven College and Leeds City College to ensure we inspire the workforce of the future.
