Clinical fellow HIV/Sexual Health
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed doctor to join the HIV/Sexual Health &
Contraception team in Brighton – the first UK fast track city. This is a full-time post for 6 months from August 2023.
This post is split between The Sussex Beacon & The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. The post holder will be expected to provide medical care to inpatients in The Sussex Beacon and staff Sexual Health & Contraception outpatient clinics, and HIV emergency clinics if suitably experienced. The Sussex Beacon has a 10 bedded inpatient unit serving patients living with HIV in B&H, East & west Sussex. The HIV/Sexual Health department currently has a cohort of over 2,400 patients with HIV and sees approximately 34,000 attendances in the fully integrated Sexual health service per year and is a major centre for clinical research in HIV and Sexual Health. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience in this dynamic specialty.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Providing medical care to patients in the Sussex Beacon
- Staffing sexual health & contraception clinics
- LARC if appropriately trained
- HIV emergency clinic if suitable experience.
- On Call Commitment: no on call commitment unless appropriate experience
