Job Description
To provide a quality Employment Relations service to designated Divisions and other directorates as necessary, encompassing a pro-active support service across all employment issues. Providing advice on a full range of Human Resources issues. The post holder will also monitor compliance within the Department with Trust policy, employment legislation, best practice and support Divisions achieve agreed HR performance targets.
Analyse complex information and present management options, evaluate risks and recommend appropriate courses of action in line with current employment legislation, HR policy and best practice.
Provide guidance and assist managers in conducting comprehensive disciplinary and grievance investigations and assist with the completion of any associated management investigation reports in preparation for case review.
To form strong and effective working relationships with managers, supporting on complex managing people matters, using strong influencing and persuasion skills in challenging circumstances. Protecting staff, managers and the Trust from Employment Tribunal Claims.
Plan, collate and present information at various meetings/hearings including disciplinary and grievance hearings. To analyse and interpret information by compiling contentious and complex information for hearings/sickness reviews/grievances.
Support managers by providing expert HR advice to the chair of hearing panels on the interpretation of HR policies and in line with employment legislations.
Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on change management processes, including redundancy and contribute to the development and implementation of associated consultation documentation.
Play a key role in the delivery of HR and corporate management development training to managers and supervisors across the Trust, including delivery of training and programmes to managers with own area of responsibility.

Brief managers on new or revised policies and procedures. Lead on specific HR policy development, as defined by HR Manager/Head of Employment Relations; ensuring consultation with key stakeholders is undertaken throughout, attending internal meetings and forums as required.
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of employment legislation and case law in order to provide expert advice, guidance and information. Anticipate and react to the implications for working practices within both the Divisions and the wider Trust.
Analyse and prepare workforce dashboard information, enabling area of responsibility to develop local workforce plans
Data analysis of leaver information from specific exit interviews and leaver data held in ESR, ensuring areas of concern are identified and explored.
To participate in job evaluation processes, ensuring posts are evaluated and banded appropriately ensuring compliance with Agenda for Change.
Support designated area of responsibility in modernising new ways of working and continuous improvement to the service.
Contribute to the development of the HR Organisational Development Strategy and have an understanding of how this fits into the wider Strategic direction of the Trust.
To undertake assigned projects and research initiatives as determined by the HR Manager/Head of Employment Relations.
To deputise for the HR Managers in their absence as required.
To develop effective relationships with recognised trade unions and staff representatives and promote good employee relations. To promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all actions and activities.
