This is an exciting post working in the newly developed Primary Care Network Psychology Team, developing a providing a group programme that meets the needs of each local area.
We have two vacant posts in Shropshire where our APs have left for promotions.
We have a very supportive Psychology presence within the Shropshire Telford and Wrekin Care Group. A large Assistant Psychologist group, the opportunity to shadow psychologists, a regular psychology meeting to keep everyone informed of developments as well as excellent training.
To support and enhance psychological care by assisting qualified practitioners in the delivery and evaluation of cost-effective services that meet Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
To develop and deliver a group programme for PCN Aligned Psychology
To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
To work with primary care mental health services. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

Clinical
1. Where necessary - To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of service users, including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the service user's
2. To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's problems, including simple procedures and techniques related to psychology

Teaching, training and supervision
1. To receive regular clinical supervision from one of the service's qualified psychologists and in accordance with professional practice
2. To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties
3. To contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological care, including contributing to the organisation of training seminars and conferences for others.
Service development
1. To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects
