The Phlebotomy team with Bury District Nursing Service requires an additional staff member to support and expand the existing phlebotomy team. Duties will involve taking blood samples from patients within their own homes in the Bury area.
Whilst previous phlebotomy experience is an advantage, it is not essential.
Successful candidates will attend the Quality and Credit Framework Unit 48, Level 3 Venepuncture course prior to undertaking any practice as arranged with Trust Education Department. Practical assessments will take place in work place.
The main duties of the role will involve undertaking venepuncture.
Important skills needed for the job role are:-
- Willingness to undertake training to nationally recognised standard.
- Ability to work within a team and alone as required.
- Ability to liaise with patients in a sensitive manner.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work under demanding circumstances and to deadlines.
- Ability to follow protocols and policies.
- Be flexible with working hours.
- Good communication skills.
