About this role…
We are looking for a Support Worker to join The Greenhouse team.
The Greenhouse in Hackney is a one-stop hub delivering housing and healthcare services to homeless people in the borough. Thames Reach staff, working in partnership with Hackney council, provide housing advice and support to people with complex needs, alongside the NHS’s specialist GP practice.
Thames Reach welcomes applications from people with transferable skills.
You will:
- Hold a caseload of clients to relieve or prevent homelessness in Hackney
- Work on a duty rota to assess homeless clients in Hackney
- Deliver high quality housing assessments and advice appointments
- Develop and refer clients through relevant housing pathways
To succeed as the Support Worker, you will have:
- A good understanding of homelessness legislation as well as knowledge of the Homeless Reduction Act, or the ability to learn quickly
- Experience of working with and supporting people who are experiencing homelessness
- Excellent prioritising skills and be able to independently manage your workload
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications, including databases
- Initiative and attention to detail
- The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
