https://youtu.be/NDjl549Uppg

Main duties of the job

Compass Schools is an established service providing therapeutic education to children and young people who have been excluded from mainstream education due to complex mental health difficulties and/or developmental trauma presentations.

We are a dedicated team carrying out important evidence based clinical work alongside creating a fun environment, full of activities to support children and young people and ensure they’re able to access their CAMHS service and education all in one place.

This post is for a 1-year fixed term contract. We’re able to offer plenty of flexibility and can consider part time, full time, annualised hours or term time only. Most of the team works 8:30am-4:30pm and the minimum requirement would be for you to be available in school for 4 days p/week during term times.

Working for our organisation

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.

Why Norfolk and Suffolk? The people here are warm and welcoming, you’ll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park. We’re an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of history, independent cafes, shops and theatres.

Please complete the following task – Within the supporting statement section of the application form, please write a 500 word piece explaining: “How would you support a young person who is attending school but will not stay in lessons or attend therapy sessions/groups? The young person is currently living with foster carers and their allocated 1:1 teaching assistant has just gone on maternity leave”. Please note that applications without this will not be considered.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

If you’re a caring, thoughtful, and playful individual looking for a challenging but fulfilling role providing intensive support to children and young people, we would love for you to come and join the Compass family!

You’ll be joining our smaller team based at Pott Row which consists of an Assistant Psychologist and Art Psychotherapist who are supported by our Principle Clinical Psychologist who works across the 3 schools.

Alternatively, if you have subscribed to the update service, we will be able to check your status once we have your authority to do so.

You need to subscribe when you have applied for your DBS clearance and there is a time limit to subscribe of 19 days after receipt of your DBS disclosure.
