What You’ll Do:
This role is suited for a candidate who is comfortable working in a fast paced, proactive role for a large corporation and who is used to operating within a global corporate property services platform.
This role is based in New York or London, however consideration on flexibility will be given dependent upon the availability of suitable candidates. The role requires frequent communications across global time zones and the availability to travel as necessary.
Our Global Property team is part of News Corporate Services (NCS). It is a high-performing team of senior professionals focusing on developing and executing services and strategies to maximise the value of News Corp global 11M sq ft office and industrial property portfolio. NewsCorp portfolio in EMEA includes approximately 40 sites (office and industrial) and represent c.2M sqft.
We operate as a global Center of Excellence for Property and Strategy, Programme Management, Project Design, Financial Reporting and, Client Relationship Management and Venture Integration support. Our scope of services is evolving according to the needs of our organisation.
Responsibilities:
The Global Space Planner will report to the VP, Global Property Portfolio Strategy Lead and will support the following key activities:
Serve as a primary interface and point of contact for all space related inquiries associated with the portfolio.
Develop standard metrics for planning across the portfolio
Develop and maintain master space plans for all sites tied to current portfolio initiatives
Conduct space analysis and develop best fit plans (including adjacencies) associated with requests for altered spaces, relocation alternatives and capital building requests
Ability to assess and provide concept space metrics for projects based on headcount numbers and business unit function
Provide phased move space plans associated with works projects to be undertaken maintaining operational workspaces
Prepare indicative building work specifications associated with the projects as they develop for budgetary purposes and/or to obtain quotations.
Have the ability to determine the best FF&E to meet the project brief
Develop space utilisation recommendations and solutions to Business Units as and when required
Develop and maintain statutory legislation and building code requirements across the globe.
Review and/or update CAD drawings. Document findings and conclusions and communicate recommendations based on data analysis.
Assist and support site assessments to review space efficiencies, utilisation and supply/demand metrics
Provide remote support for installation of space layouts (troubleshooting etc)
In collaboration with the lease administration database, maintain space utilisation data
Work with our cost manager to develop design plans to meet the defined budget for new buildings, renovations, remodels and expansions.
Maintains thorough knowledge of current and future space requirements with an understanding of the business direction and changing workplace environment needs.
Management of vendor relationships as and when required.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
6+ years of relevant space planning senior experience in an Architectural practice and/or design consultancy environment
Comprehensive AutoCAD skills
Proficient in Revit and Photoshop or similar software packages enabling presentation of design into reports such as business case requests
High level competency and understanding of building services infrastructure and statutory legislation awareness
Excellent relationship management, organisational awareness and interpersonal skills, as the role entails significant interaction with a variety of external and internal senior leadership
Demonstrable ability to function in a fast paced, ambiguous environment,working with diverse responsibilities
Demonstrable ability to handle complex client situations, and interface with all levels of personnel within company
Ability to create clear written presentations for senior stakeholders
Proven ability to navigate a complex, matrixed organisation at a fast pace
Collaborative & flexible - Motivated, strong interpersonal skills/team player who is able to accept direct feedback
Geographical diversity - Ability to adapt and relate to a diverse and multicultural environment
Location: London or New York, the activities are conducted primarily in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.
Working Arrangement: Hybrid - In office at least 3 days per week.

Pay Range: $60,000 - $150,000
