Job summary

HMS GANNET is the Royal Navy's sole air station in Scotland. Providing operational support to military aviation, the unit offers a multifaceted working environment with a varied and challenging working day. The Operations Clerk is a pivotal role within the unit and combines planning, coordination and communications skills to ensure customers can operate safely and effectively.


Job description

The Operations Clerk's tasks include:

  • managing visits and coordinating flying programmes
  • supporting security related administration
  • carrying out routine administrative tasks
  • coordinating and managing SharePoint
  • handling incoming and outgoing mail
  • acting as the information support officer
  • acting as the unit's communications officer
  • supporting accommodation bookings when required
  • authorising aircraft landing fees when required

Person specification

The successful candidate will be a well motivated and driven person with excellent communication and organisational skills. Be able to operate as part of a team and also confident to provide advice and guidance to customers. The candidate will have a solid grasp of MS365 applications particularly Word, Excel and SharePoint.
