Ricochet is owned by the Warner Bros Discovery Group of Companies and is one of the UK’s leading Television Production Companies who produce factual entertainment programmes for BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5 and ITV.

TVP UK HQ is the central business unit providing and coordinating key operational support, across post production services, IT, facilities, HR, and production participation accounting services to the WB International Productions UK production entities (Wall to Wall, Twenty Twenty, Ricochet & Renegade).
Your New Role…
The UK Hub Finance team covers all aspects of finance, from processing cycles, management accounts, statutory accounts, forecasting, tax, cash management, liaison with auditors and the WBITVP group.
The role will report into Senior Manager – UK Hub Controller (WBITVP) with secondary reporting to the Financial Controller, Ricochet and you will be required to go into the Brighton office 1-2 times a week. You will assist the Financial Controller in the preparation of the financial accounting and to ensure the smooth operation of the Accounts function. The Management Accountant Finance Analyst is responsible for overseeing and managing the workflow of the Production Accountant to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of internal management and group reporting.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Management Accounts Preparation
-
Lead the process for the preparation on the monthly management accounts under applicable GAAP for Ricochet & WBTVPUK. Reviewing Actuals against current forecast and providing insightful variance analysis where required.

Management and oversight of allocation process for WBTVPUK including calculating central cost recharges for facilities , HR , IT and assessment of costs against forecasts.

Prepare monthly payroll recoveries journals and various reports and forecasts
-
Review monthly payroll(s) prepared by head office and sign off payment via online banking system Barclays.net
Balance Sheet Control
-
Ensure there are monthly reviews of the balance sheet, preparing reconciliations to an acceptable standard for both US GAAP reporting, tax and statutory purposes. Assist GBS in the clearance of reconciling items where required. Lead on the Balance Sheet review calls with GBS answering any queries.
Audit Lead
-
Lead on the audit process for Ricochet & WBTVPUK taking responsibility for completing the ETB, identifying and preparing all required statutory accounting adjustments, coordinating all audit evidence requested by the auditors, first point of contact for the auditors and SME for audit questions.
Financial Reporting
-
Quarterly update and complete the KPI and BS Flux reports for ITVP Senior Management review. Investigate and provide explanations for key movement in KPIs and detailed commentary on flux variances.
VAT Analysis
-
Fill out quarterly commentary and analysis on why there are fluctuations in the amount of VAT input and output from quarter to quarter for the Corporate Finance team.
Other
-
Responsibility for Ricochet’s credit card reconciliations, including assessment of expense receipts, coding and posting.

Coordination and assistance of the AP process, including liaising with approvers and providing coding for entries for WBTVPUK.

Maintenance of OIM accounts in SAP, liaising with EFS to ensure accounts are kept up to date
-
Monitor cash levels on a monthly basis and prepare monthly cash clearing reports for WBITVP
-
Maintain the fixed asset register in TVPUK adding items onto the register when invoices have been received and disposing of any items when necessary.

Submit the monthly quarterly ONS surveys on the government portal, this involves providing information on staff numbers, capital expenditure, working practices etc
-
Approve payments as required and act as point of contact for payment / vendor queries on SAP
General Accounting & Systems
-
Reconciliation of various production related interfacing accounts in SAP
-
Monitor Just Produce interface with SAP ensuring errors are corrected in a timely manner

Prepare ad-hoc analysis when required
-
Oversee process improvements to strengthen internal controls to mitigate risk of fraud and error, implement new process and control as directed by WBITVP ensuring compliance to best business practice, SOX framework and risk management
Qualifications & Experience…
-
Recognised accountancy qualification with 1-3 PQE experience at mid-management level. Experience within a media production environment advantageous but not essential

Strong attention to detail, problem solving, ability to make decisions, be self-sufficient and manage workload around tight reporting deadlines
-
A lateral thinker, with the ability to provide solutions to complex issues
-
Advanced Excel skills and IT skills are a must, with good systems experience, preferably ERP accounting software like SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar

Good interpersonal skills, collaborative and able to build relationships with multidisciplinary teams
