THE GIG

It is an exciting time for Dr. Martens as we continue a significant growth, expansion, and improvement journey. The DM Technology team is at this core – transforming technology into a key business enabler. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, outcome focussed technology lead, fulfilling a newly transformed role in our global product and agile organisation. You are passionate about technology, enjoy coaching people for success and deeply understand Supply Chain processes.

You are an experienced senior manager expert in global operations and supply chain in a technology and business process setting. You will be pivotal in driving technology and process efficiency improvements in line with the Business Strategy as part of the Supply Chain domain,

You will be current on leading practice operations and supply chain solutions. You will play a technical lead role across all BAU activities and continuous business and systems improvement initiatives at a global level.

You will be responsible for capturing supply chain transformation requirements (planning, sourcing, shipping, warehousing) and providing your expertise to major projects that deliver the outcome.

You will report to the Domain Delivery Lead for our Global Supply Chain Domain, working with a globally distributed team and building strong partnerships with functional Supply Chain leaders in all regions.

As our Business Solutions Manager for Global Supply Chain, you will be responsible for:

BAU & Management

  • Assess, design, and support implementing solutions that significantly improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
  • Lead professionalisation of the supply chain business teams in terms of:
  • 1. Development of cross-functional process design
  • 2. Adoption of business systems and operational best practices
  • 3. Advice on optimal solutions available for immediate business process requirements
  • Own and manage relationships and service levels with third-party service and solution providers
  • Ensure we work closely with Cross-Functional stakeholders to understand and document the current systems/business processes end-to-end
  • Pro-actively engage senior stakeholders to influence critical business decisions and conduct regular “operational service reviews” to confirm plans, prioritisation, and delivery are in-line with stakeholder expectation
  • Develop and foster collaborative and robust working relationships with the wider functional and technical teams within the business
  • Ensure that there is sufficient systems process documentation and that security controls are robust and working in line with expectations
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology and developments within the Microsoft D365 space, updating business stakeholders on pipeline improvements
  • Assess existing digital supply chain capabilities against retail or FMCG leading practice

Continuous Improvement & Change

  • Identify business process improvements that can be automated, improved or enhanced
  • In an IT context, support internal customers, including the COO, develop and iterate the supply chain strategy and improve the operating model to meet KPIs through the use of technology
  • Align the Supply Chain Systems roadmap to the broader business transformation and change agenda
  • Direct the development and subsequent delivery of future systems roadmaps to support the future operating model of the Supply Chain functions
  • Support the Supply Chain teams to get the most out of Microsoft D365.
  • 1. Ensure that super users are adequately trained and have the resources to support and upskill their respective teams
  • 2. Support further rollouts to other regions (Asia & US) and help to implement system enhancements
  • Analyse requirements, design, specify and implement technology solutions in line with Business and Supply Chain strategy that will add value to the business.
  • Ensure that any D365 changes are appropriately mirrored through liaison with the Data Analytics team and tools.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, organising and structuring business processes and teamwork
  • Strong experience in engaging with senior stakeholders to deliver business and systems change initiatives
  • Track record in analysing business requirements and delivering technical business solutions
  • Experience in leading large-scale supply chain solutions at large (e.g. Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics 365)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Dynamics AX/365FO (Essential)
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and other Supply Chain systems and integrations with satellite applications
  • Ability to analyse complex data sets and relational databases (e.g. Excel, SQL)
  • Ability to write clear business documentation, such as business process documents, technical specifications, and training documents
  • Previous Experience as Supply Chain Workstream Lead on numerous large-scale projects
  • Retail or FMCG omnichannel experience in direct-to-consumer, physical stores, B2B/wholesale and 3rd Part logistics providers
  • Proven experience managing teams
