Role Purpose
The EMEA HSSE Account Lead will be responsible for developing and delivering a health, safety and environmental risk management strategy that enables our client account team to comply with JLL, client and statutory requirements in its operations throughout EMEA.
This will include:
- Identifying national legislative standards and best practice.
- Agreeing and implementing practical risk management procedures.
- Demonstrating leadership in health, safety and environmental issues.
- Developing and implementing a programme for the audit, measurement and reporting of HSSE performance against agreed standards.
- Influencing staff and clients to deliver the highest HSSE standards.
- Demonstrating leadership in health, safety and environmental issues, ensuring that the JLL HSSE Management System and Standards are applied across areas of responsibility in the EMEA region.
- Ensuring alignment and compliance with all client HSSE policies and practice.
- Facilitating the delivery and management of HSSE, supporting staff to achieve compliance and performance reporting against all JLL & client set HSSE metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Supporting a programme for training, audit, measurement and reporting HSSE performance against agreed standards.
- Promoting JLL’s positive, proactive One Team S.A.F.E.R. Together culture change programme and influencing stakeholders.
What this job involves
You’ll work closely with the EMEA Client Account Team, EMEA Account Director and Operations Lead, Client stakeholders, JLL teams including Facilities Managers, Finance and Procurement, as well as JLL’s supply chain representatives. You’ll lead HSSE processes in coordination with the Client’s team.
Main duties to include the following but are not limited to as other duties may be assigned:
- Provide guidance and advice on HSSE management at all levels of the organisation.
- Assist the development of a HSSE management system, tailored to JLL and client program needs, and implement & maintain the system.
- Provide guidance to Facilities Managers on how to complete competent assessments of all HSSE risks and report on the control of that risk.
- Assist with, and ensure, the completion of appropriate HSSE documentation including risk assessments, method statements, statutory documentation, etc.
- Manage a program of project site audits and reports.
- Analyse the results of the Account HSSE performance and make regular reports to the Account Leadership Team on risk management performance.
- Arrange a Safety Champion Programme for the Account in the region.
- Collate and review accident reports, investigate accidents and make recommendation to prevent reoccurrence.
- Provide monthly reports on performance including any accident statistics.
- Assist the procurement team in accrediting services and goods supply contractors for work in client properties.
- Liaise with HSSE management specialists elsewhere in JLL to ensure common standards of best practice are achieved throughout the company’s world-wide business.
- Provide regular updates and training on key legislative changes that impact the Account and projects being delivered in our clients’ buildings.
- Secure the development of a positive, proactive HSSE culture at all levels throughout the organization.
- Support work teams, to secure operational HSSE compliance, including providing support for client HSSE audits and inspections as required.
- Establish effective relationships and work closely and co-operatively with senior managers, operational teams, the client and contractors.
- Participate in cross account auditing for the JLL business.
Additional duties and responsibilities:
- Devise and implement a training programme.
- Follow a programme of continuing professional development in order to stay abreast of legislative and best practice changes.
- Meet operational objectives as specified by the Client and/or JLL.
- Meet personal objectives as stipulated within JLL’s Individual Performance Management Process.
- Have a pragmatic and cost-effective approach to HSSE management.
- Identify conclusions or approaches to problems including strengths and weaknesses of existing systems and alternative solutions
- Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
- Drive technology/innovation enabled efficiencies and service level improvements
- Any other duties deemed appropriate to the role as determined by the JLL Account Leadership Team and/or the JLL HSSE Leadership Team.

Critical Competencies:
- Results orientated with a strong focus on the delivery of objectives.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to deal with all people at all organisational levels, internally and externally.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and show foresight in relation to existing and potential problems.
- Computer literate with a knowledge of commonly used software programmes, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to research and produce management information and specialist reports making recommendations as appropriate.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to balance competing demands and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify trends and identify the root causes of any problems.
- Ability to carry out an audit and gather objective evidence through observation, interview and sampling of documents and records
Essential Criteria:
- CMIOSH (Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) or GradIOSH (Graduate Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) or national equivalent.
- Proven history of implementation of environmental, health and safety systems and processes (design and implementation of management systems through to external accreditation).
- Relevant HSSE experience in a similar environment (Facilities Management, Project Management, HSSE Consultancy or other environment with client-facing responsibilities).
- Must be willing and able to travel nationally and internationally as deemed necessary to fulfil the role including being on site 5 days per week.
Desirable Criteria
- HSSE Auditor Qualifications.
- Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (or equivalent).
- Previous experience of working in a multi-country role.
- Previous experience of working in the Technology/Social Media sectors.
- Additional language(s).
