We've built Europe's best-connected broadcast centre at Stockley Park, London, distributing 35,000 hours of content globally and creating some of the world's best sporting coverage. What You’ll Do:
European Tour Productions (ETP), an IMG production are responsible for producing and distributing golf coverage of the DP World Tour, The Challenge Tour, The Ryder Cup and The Open. In this capacity, ETP has produced the live coverage for hundreds of events around the world and not just in Europe. We travel to events in the middle east, Asia and Africa and have produced the last twelve Ryder Cups and The Open since 2016. In 2021, and despite COVID restrictions we delivered over 850 hours of live world feed golf coverage. Our award winning original and branded content is expanding, and we also produce a broad range of content for social media channels and The European Tour website.
We have a very exciting opportunity for a Director of Digital Content Production to join our senior leadership team where you will be responsible for leading ETP’s non-live content function, including Tournament & Player, Challenge Tour and Original & Branded content teams.
The Director of Digital Content Production will work collaboratively with the European Tour and other key stakeholders including G4DTour, to define and determine our strategic goals for the years ahead.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
In collaboration with respective team leaders at IMG and the European Tour group, define ETPs creative vision and strategy to develop the next generation of content across the European Tour group.
Lead and manage a production team of 30 plus people across a variety of disciplines, ensuring the continual development of team members and ensuring high standards are delivered by all direct and indirect reports.
Work with the Head of Golf Content and the European Tour Senior Leadership team to evolve the culture and behaviours of the department so that we can attract, retain and develop the very best talent, building a shared sense of purpose that inspires the team to grow.
Work with the Head of Golf Content, Head of Production and the production management team to ensure that projects are delivered in a timely way and to budget.
Manage the budgeting process for the department and ensure that forecasts of expenditure are accurate.
You will challenge the business to think differently, embrace and drive change, and be a champion for diversity in Sports production.
Provide clear creative direction and vision for the team. Oversee the creative processes; motivate, inspire, and manage the teams to deliver world class content.
Lead the generation, conceptualisation of original and exciting ideas, responding to briefs and the overriding objectives of the client.
Oversee the creative execution of content.
Organise and collaborate in planning sessions regarding client strategy as required.
Collaborate in Executive, Operational and Management meetings as required.
Input into new business development activity with fresh approaches, contacts, and a clear understanding of the fluid and changing content landscape, formats and platforms.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
Prior experience in a senior digital and creative role leading, supporting, and developing a digital content team.
Understanding of the strategic importance of digital to drive value for modern sports rights holders and the subsequent potential for growth.
Previous experience in creating content directly for brands and / or advertising or media agencies.
An extensive ‘contact book’ of creative freelance talent including directing, filming, editing, producers, postproduction, facilities, scriptwriters, and other industry creative professionals.
Proven track record of effective and valued leadership and direction of creative teams.
Proven track record of creating successful content for prestigious brands.
Experienced in the creative development and preparation of proposal and presentation materials.
Experienced in pitching and presenting to clients in person.
Experience of developing relationships and communicating with talent.
Knowledge of trends on how viewers consume content including but not limited to, TV (traditional linear and new forms) and advertising content across multiple platforms; social media, digital channels, OTT, VOD platforms.
Understanding of the difference between editorial and advertising compliance guidelines e.g., Ofcom.
