Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-2 times per week.
GM Motorsports Competition Engineering is continuing to grow its Sports Car Racing simulation team in support of our Sports Car Racing Programs. You will interface with race teams, chassis team and engine team to develop simulation capabilities that improve preparation and lap time. This role will also analyze track data to improve model correlation. This position may require limited travel to races, tests, and teams.
Joining the GM Motorsports Organization will provide you with the experience and exposure it takes to build and maintain successful race teams and the opportunity to showcase your simulation skills contribute to innovation, connect lessons learned in racing to production intent vehicles, work cross functionally with our partners and ultimately, help shape the future of Motorsports.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Mathematics/Computer Science
Must have 2 or more years of post-graduation work experience
Motorsports experience is preferred ; Collegiate programs such as Formula SAE or personal hobby engagement considered acceptable Motorsport experience
Demonstrated proficiency in simulation tools including multi-body vehicle modeling, tire modeling, lap time simulation, hardware in the loop and driver in the loop environments
Expert at internal/external data processing and analysis
Ability to present data clearly and concisely, examples will be requested
Able to handle multiple programs efficiently
Strong collaboration skills and ability to navigate relationships with external partners
