Title: Content Developer/Strategist

Hiring Range: $45,000. - $53,000.00

Pay Band: 4

Job Duties

Position will develop, write, edit, proofread, and fact check internal messages, front-page web content, graphics, brochures, booklets, marketing materials, etc.. before publishing; will collaborate with internal departments and team members to brainstorm, lead, and execute suggestions for creative content; will ensure all content is user-friendly and adheres to Associated Press (AP) Style guidelines; will identify, plan, and amplify the stories that best showcase and enhance the VSU brand and reputation; will research industry-related topics; will prepare well-structured drafts using digital word processing and publishing platforms; and will create and distribute marketing copy to advertise our brand. Position will manage content review calendars and update social media, the website, and the VSU Greater Happens page on intranet; will craft and execute social media strategy across social media platforms to increase followers, engagement, and brand awareness. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with creating engaging content for digital marketing platforms is required; must have ability to create and distribute marketing copy to advertise our university; must have demonstrated experience in copywriting, digital management, or a related field is preferred; must have experience at researching industry-related topics; must have demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver results within limited time frames; must have ability to write in multiple styles and voices, including journalistic style for the news media and conversational style for newsletters; must have ability to work independently and as part of a team; must have strong attention to detail is required; must have ability to multi-task several activities, projects, and assignments simultaneously with moderate supervision; must have effective verbal and written communication skills; and must have ability to work an alternative schedule when need arises.

Preferred Qualifications:

An associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, mass communications, or a related field is preferred; must have demonstrated experience in copywriting, digital management, or a related field is preferred. Experience in higher education is preferred.
