The UW Medical Center - Heart Institute has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-Time, Day Shift, REGISTERED MEDICAL ASSISTANT. The Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) assists health care professionals in the examination and treatment of patients by performing duties such as preparation of patient and environment for treatment, care of the patient post-treatments, patient education, and clerical reception functions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
Prepare and clean exam rooms
Submit medication prior authorizations
Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
Assist in transporting patients as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Eligible for licensure in the State of Washington as a Medical Assistant-Registered; attestation must be completed by the applicable provider and submitted to the state within 7 days of hire. Licensure is not transferable between UW clinics/departments
Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
