Job Description

Job Purpose
The aim of the Community Arts Project is to consolidate and foster relationships with cultural and community partners within and beyond Glasgow, with a view to:
  • Enhancing student experience, skills and employability
  • Accessing new, professional spaces, facilities and expertise
  • Developing collaborative research opportunities and building new routes to impact
  • Opening up WP possibilities
  • Building meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships with communities
  • Bringing arts & humanities methodologies, and practices, to civic and regional engagement initiatives
  • Achieving our civic engagement goals
The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the delivery of key project deliverables and activities, as well as identifying and supporting the growth and development of new and existing community arts partnerships across the College. The role holder will effectively manage a project budget, in addition to identifying and applying for supplementary funding to sustain the seed funding already secured.
Working across the College of Arts & Humanities, initial focus and line management will be across the School of Culture & Creative Arts and their practice-based subjects with potential to engage other subject areas, Schools and Colleges as the project proceeds.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Strategic project oversight and quality: Working with key colleagues, external and community partners lead the delivery of project objectives e.g. schedule of activities; teaching and public events; new programme development and delivery; new partnerships and initiatives created.
2. Academic colleagues and student support: Working with the College Student Services team, create deeper collaborative relationships across staff, students, community groups and cultural organisations through increased engagement in relevant teaching programmes and external engagement activities.
3. Monitoring & Evaluation: Working with relevant College support functions, support the evaluation, recording and reporting on project outcomes. This may include working with external and community partners and funders to produce customised reports.
4. Communications: Working with College and University communications teams, ensure the effective, efficient and innovative communication of project activities across multiple relevant channels (e.g. project website, social media, etc.) achieving optimum reach.
5. Grant support: Working with colleagues and in collaboration with the College Research Office, lead on relevant internal and external funding applications to ensure sustainability of the project and established partnership activities.
6. Budget Management: Working with College Finance team and the academic Project Manager, effectively manage the project budget ensuring appropriate allocation of funds across project activities and initiatives.
7. Collaboration (internal): To work effectively with colleagues across the College and University to maximise the success of the project. This will include, but is not limited to, colleagues in the ArtsLab and ARC, relevant College Deans, College Student Services; Marketing and Communication, Events & Engagement, Student Employability, and Research Support; Civic Engagement Lead, Knowledge Exchange & Innovation, Impact.
8. Collaboration (external): To collaborate with relevant professionals across the cultural, creative and heritage sectors to encourage partnerships with a particular focus on engaging with and benefitting local and civic communities.
9. Engage in continuing professional development activities as appropriate.
10. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the line manager/academic Project Manager.
11. To contribute to the enhancement of the University’s international profile in line with the University’s Strategic Plan, World Changers Together.

Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential
A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar or number of different roles. Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9, (Ordinary Degree, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4), or equivalent (including professional accreditation with relevant formal training), and experience of personal development in a similar or related role(s).
A2 Knowledge of current best practice in terms of work-oriented learning and embedding of graduate attributes in HEI teaching.
A3 Demonstrable knowledge of event organisation and working across the HEI and cultural sectors, including best practice around different aspects of activity/event design, including: project management, audience interaction, partnership working, problem solving, GDPR compliance, health and safety, quality control and evaluation, and implementing improvements arising from broader sector awareness.
A4 Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of grant and funding application processes and funder guidelines and a successful track record of securing awards.
A5 Demonstrable knowledge of relationship cultivation with one or more of research, community, civic, policy or cultural and / or creative industry partners.
A6 Working knowledge of project management, CRM or events platforms to support the management of a multi-strand project / programme.
Desirable
B1 Demonstrable understanding of the key challenges and opportunities relating to cultural, creative and/or heritage sector in Glasgow and Scotland.
B2 Membership of an appropriate professional body, either relating to events, engagement or project management.
Skills
Essential
C1 Strong and confident communication and interpersonal skills, delivered in a professional and personable manner.
C2 Excellent relationship management, negotiating and influencing skills and the confidence to work alongside a broad range of roles and levels of seniority and liaise across organisational boundaries.
C3 Proven track record of working collaboratively with academic and cultural, creative and heritage sector organisations.
C4 Extensive IT skills, including Microsoft Office, CRM databases, survey tools and the management of digital platforms.
C5 Good time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to cope with a demanding workload and produce high quality work, often to tight deadlines and balancing multiple priorities.
C6 High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to remain calm and focused in a challenging situation, resolving unforeseen issues using analytical and evaluation skills to reach realistic and achievable solutions.
C7 Ability to manage and control assigned budgets.
Experience
Essential
E1 Substantial experience of teaching-led partnerships in HEI specifically relating to the cultural and/or creative industries.
E2 Experience in enthusing, motivating, managing and developing staff to work collegiately to deliver on strategic goals.
E3 Experience of collaboratively working with one or more of research, community, civic, policy or cultural and / or creative industry partners or groups.
E4 Experience in the facilitation and evaluation of teaching-led activities for a wide range of individuals.
E5 Experience of supporting and delivering large scale public event, such as, for example festivals, exhibitions, theatrical and/or musical performances, which embed accessibility and inclusion from the outset, and achieve high quality experiences and outcomes for those participating.
E6 Experience of managing and controlling budgets and resources.
E7 Experiencing of identifying, applying for and securing grant funds.
Desirable
F1 Knowledge of the University of Glasgow and/or the Higher Education sector.
F2 Experience of website publishing and content management using systems such as T4 or equivalent.
F3 Knowledge of business systems e.g. Agresso, CMIS and MyCampus.
F4 Experience in reporting to funding agencies.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 7, £38,474 - £43,155 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week), and has funding for up to 31 July 2026 in the first instance.
