Supports the Finance Team by providing analysis and advice regarding process changes in accounting programs, and financial systems for implementation and any upgrade of the Financial Management System. Advises on how system issues impact on accounting processes and procedures. Independently analyzes and evaluates continual changes in program plans, systems, and their effect on accounting process changes. Identifies problems and provides options to resolve issues. Interprets, modifies and adapts accounting, and analytical techniques to solve complex accounting problems, and ongoing operational processing issues with financial impact.
Reviews processing between systems and recommends process changes where warranted. Develops accounting policies and may advise on the financial condition of the organization based on system information. May create and/or analyze reports, review and reconcile financial information. Assists personnel on accounting processes related to implementation and upgrade of automated systems. May work with Headquarters Management Information System staff on issues requiring both technical and non-technical solutions related to systems software applications. May work with Headquarters or field accounting staff to resolve issues and recommend process improvements. May travel to complete work assignments, and conduct or attend conferences and meetings.
Plan, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. May prepare internal office financial plans and related records and reports. Monitors programs on a regular basis, and initiates corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS. Checks supporting documentation for validity of data related to automated processes put in place to support the finance and accounting policies and procedures applicable to Marine Corps Community Services activities.

This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
