Physical Requirements This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Some job-related travel may be required.

Shift
Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with occasional evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays required per departmental needs.

The Chief Nursing Information Officer is responsible for designing and executing new life cycle systems which may include planning, workflow analysis, validation, and implementation across the Enterprise. This position will lead the continued evaluation of existing and developing technology, such as the Electronic Health Record system, against proven standards in functionality, design, continuity of care, and implications of workflow efficiency and cognitive workflows in the provision of patient care. This position will plan, develop and implement strategies for generating enhanced service delivery and revenues for the enterprise; assure efficiency and safety in all nursing practice and operations; assure the appropriate human resources, staffing structures and resource efficient operations in response to the demands of UK Healthcare and its affiliates. This role will collaborate with clinical user community teams, other UK HealthCare Information Technology teams, and UK HealthCare/UK HealthCare Information Technology leadership exhibiting trust, cooperation, integrity, and strong negotiation skills. This position requires a Kentucky Registered Nursing license and an Approved Advanced National Nursing Certification within 6 months of hire.

This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.

The ideal candidate will possess experience working with large and complex processes; extensive clinical skills professional and nursing theory/practice; strong leadership and management skills; have the ability to lead and facilitate projects, considering divergent demands while managing scope and timelines; exceptional planning and organizational skill; effective written and verbal communication skills; and be able to lead diverse groups towards University-focused objectives.

Preferred Education/Experience
Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Previous experience and demonstrated leadership and management ability.
