Job Description

Stenn is one of the leading FinTechs in Europe and a category leader in the verticals and markets it operates in. Founded in 2015, Stenn's purpose is to connect international SMEs to the global financial system, helping to bridge a reported $3.6 trillion (USD) financing gap through a fast, simple online platform. To date, Stenn has enabled over $14 billion (USD) of finance to SMEs in 3 verticals and 4 markets, with capital provided by several blue-chip banks and institutional fund managers across the globe.

Rapid expansion continues at Stenn, as under-served SMEs seek financing solutions to manage significant macroeconomic and supply chain disruption; and this follows our $50 million Series A fundraise in 2022, valuing Stenn at $900 million.

Our HQ is in London with employees across the globe, including the USA, Europe and China. We are made up of diverse, highly skilled professionals who work in an innovative way to develop and drive our business further. Our people are empowered to work autonomously through a trusting leadership style which encourages learning.

Mission

To proactively manage and optimise the time of the President and the CFO & Co-founder so as to enable them to be as productive and effective as possible.

Key Stakeholders

The President of Stenn and the CFO & Co-Founder

Line manager

Chief of Staff to the President of Stenn

The Role

The President and the CFO are exceptionally busy and in-demand senior leaders within Stenn.

President of Stenn

The President's mission is to grow Stenn from a multi-million to multi-billion dollar business, take it from international to global levels of trade, and to build a revenue function - containing both Sales and Marketing - from scratch. And all within a tight timeframe.

As Stenn looks to expand into new territories, the President will be traveling extensively and will need significant administrative support. He will frequently travel with others in his team as well as peers in the Executive Leadership Team. These travel arrangements will need coordination, booking and a single point of contact.

The President is also a Board member and advisor to a number of prestigious and well known companies outside of Stenn. You will act as his POC for these companies, working his external meetings in and around his Stenn commitments.

Given the President's time paucity, you will get to know his ways of working and ensure he is prepared for every meeting he attends, whether it is flagging something critical with a WhatsApp or handing him a CV as he moves from one meeting room to the next. You will help keep him on time for his meetings and adjust things last minute with diplomacy, always being one step ahead in anticipating his needs and capturing outcomes.

CFO & Co-founder

The CFO & Co-founder has a wide remit of responsibilities. His input is constantly required by the wider team and you will understand his priorities, knowing how to judge important vs urgent and ensure there is space in the diary to focus and prepare.

The CFO will be overseeing all fundraising efforts for the business. You will support the coordination of activities associated with this; liaising with potential investors' offices to schedule meetings, tracking the various stages of the process each investor is at and assembling the respective members of the Stenn team according to each meeting type.

A significant portion of the CFO's time is spent collating numbers and presenting these for both internal and external use. You will help with these collating activities and support in building the slide decks. Creativity around presentation material will be welcome!

Chief of Staff to the President

You will work closely with the Chief of Staff who will be your line manager and will be responsible for managing your workload. The CoS is responsible for framing new projects and initiatives, and assigning, delegating, or launching these. She will occasionally require your help with this, based on your capacity at the time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complex diary management, frequently involving multiple time zones and numerous executives, each with busy diaries of their own.
  • Administrative support including regular international travel, accommodation, expenses.
  • Coordination of fundraising overseas roadshows involving C-suite executives.
  • Diary support for the President's non-Stenn related activities, both business and private.
  • Effective gatekeeping in the face of multiple meeting requests.
  • Working closely with the CEO's EA to schedule meetings and potentially providing cover when she is away.
  • Building strong relationships with the direct reports of the President and CFO so that you can confidently ensure all meetings have an agenda and purpose.
  • Ad hoc project support and tracking for the Revenue Team as directed by the CoS.
  • Liaising with investor offices and coordinating meeting requests involving multiple attendees, tracking meeting follow-ups.
  • Spotting gaps in operational infrastructure and implementing processes where needed.
  • Optimising the departmental budget, e.g. negotiating rates with hotels frequently used by Stenn employees.
  • Assisting with / maintaining the Revenue Team's content, entries and new posts on the department's section of Stenn's intranet.
  • Coordinating onboarding agenda for new joiners.
  • Handling sensitive information and being a trusted partner to your key stakeholders.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent level qualification
  • Excellent written communication skills; confident in using soft skills such as diplomacy to achieve a desired outcome with external stakeholders
  • Minimum of three years experience as an EA to senior executives
  • Experience of coordinating schedules of more than one exec at the same time
  • Comfortable using G-Suite for docs, spreadsheets, email etc
  • Adept at creating presentation decks via Google Slides.
  • Experience working in a startup environment is preferable given the early stage of the Revenue business unit and the teething problems which come with rapid growth
  • Experience of working in a financial institution is a bonus
  • Positive, can-do attitude, willing to roll up your sleeves, be a lynchpin of the team and provide support where it's needed

We appreciate the support agencies can provide, however our in-house team do not require any 3rd party assistance at this time.

At Stenn, we believe that every team member deserves to feel like they belong. We foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and collaboration where everyone's unique perspectives are valued. Join us and be part of a team where you can thrive and grow, both professionally and personally.
