HR Innovation Manager - 12 month FTC

Context/Scope of role

The CHRO and HR leadership team have identified an opportunity in the HR function to work differently enabled by Agile ways of working and a user-centred approach.

Leadership & Complexity:
  • This role operates Globally. It is critical that the incumbent can navigate the matrix organisation, lead through others, engage and build strong relationships and influence across all levels of the business
  • This role partners with other business innovation teams to find opportunities
  • The HR Innovation Manager constructively challenges partners at all levels across the HR function -bringing new thinking and presenting opportunities
  • Creates followership of others by logically presenting solutions, taking feedback and hypothesis testing
  • This role has a strong external facing aspect
Purpose of Role
The purpose of the HR Innovation team is to shape the future of HR at Diageo whilst solving global challenges in our people processes, technologies, policies, and ways of working.
HR Innovation is an exciting and challenging part of the business. All members of the Innovation team need to be able to combine creative flair with strategic insight, commercial foresight and strong project management skills to lead initiatives that will cut across the HR function and wider business innovation teams to accelerate & orchestrate sustainable ideas and change.

Top Accountabilities:
  • You will be responsible for leading a portfolio of innovation projects, in the HR portfolio– some projects already in development, others requiring initial briefs, through to finalised concept. Each project is likely to require a team of specialists (across the HR function and business) to be led by the HR Innovation Manager to deliver to clear timelines.
  • You will represent, and can apply both an Agile way of working and user centred approach to the HR function (following informal and formal development)
  • You will shape the HR innovation proposition and concept development. Deliver market launch / test plans, that are grounded in employee & cultural insight.
  • Deliver the Innovation principally through value delivery (minimal viable products) and by ensuring sufficient partner understanding/commercial execution focus is in place to ensure success
  • Works with others to identify problems, define root causes and determine solutions
Qualifications and Experience Required
Key Criteria to be successful in this role:
You will have a consistent track record as a collaborative teammate, are able to work in a cross functional project team and collaborate to deliver ambitious timelines. You will have most (if not all) of the following experience and capabilities.
  • People strategy experience
  • Change Management experience
  • Experience in using Agile ways of working
  • Influencing -able to work with all types of partners to influence proactively and positively
  • Analytical –identifies business value
  • Proven problem solver -resilient in leading change
  • High energy, drive, and a relentless passion for change

You will also bring strong functional expertise and are a subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas:
  • Marketing Innovation
  • SCRUM
  • Communications and engagement
