About the role

This role represents an exciting opportunity to become part of a small and well- established three-person team of Support Workers assisting a young man in his own home and in the community.

During your shifts you will be working one-to-one with our client, a man in his 20’s who has cerebral palsy, visual impairment, and epilepsy. He is a bright and cheerful young man who is a keen artist - he often works on art projects, sometimes in conjunction with the Arts Council, and he has recently exhibited his work in
Liverpool. He also enjoys photography, screen printing and film making, watching his favourite programmes on TV, visiting the cinema, and going bowling.

Our client shares his home with his parents and his friendly Labrador dog. Shifts will involve some domestic duties, to ensure a safe, tidy, and clean environment - for example, he requires assistance to prepare his lunch and to perform some household duties.

You’ll need a full driving license and must be comfortable to drive the client’s wheelchair adapted vehicle, both locally and potentially for longer distance journeys.

We will provide training and supervision, but if you are an enthusiastic and proactive individual who would enjoy following his rehabilitation programme in order to help him expand and develop his independent living skills, then this could be the right role for you.
